I went to one where the food caterer was raising canes. That’s my top
I asked the groom about it because he really was a good buddy of mine from college and he said you can’t beat the tail gate price I just shook my head and laughed

In New Iberia. Bud lights were flowing and the bride was twerking on everyone

Most weddings I go to I wish there was a plate of juicy chicken tenders hidden under table cloth somewhere.

JOP signed my first marriage license during LSU arkansas at his house wearing LSU gear.
We were eloping the next week and didn't feel like doing paperwork in the destination state.

I haven’t been to this one, but has anyone seen the YouTube video of the bride singing buck Cherry while she walked down the aisle?

In front of a trailer in a small town Mississippi. The dozen people attending wedding were waiting then a phone call told the bride the groom had been arrested. Justice of the Peace officiating wedding got on phone and was able to drive the next town over with bride and get groom released to come get married. Believe he had to report back to courthouse next day after wedding.
Don't remember anything about food after. That was 30 years ago.

I am past the wedding group
Was at a funeral in the past decade where the family got in a fight and knocked over the open casket and the body rolled out. There are Jerry Springer episodes with less fighting and trashiness.

My own damn brother’s wedding was Aerosmith-themed. Yes, that’s right. Bridesmaids looked like wannabe strippers. I was the best man… Every other wedding I’ve attended or participated in was traditional and thoughtful. That thing was a shitshow.

Went to one where the groom and groomsmen all wore camo ties and cummerbunds and were all outside funneling beers 5 minutes before the wedding.

The invite was sent via e-mail and it was BYOB. Not kidding.

College buddy's wedding in Arkansas...ceremony was at 10 AM...full mass then reception followed at 11 in the schools fricking cafeteria. We were treated to a luke warm lunch, his brother figuring out the acoustic guitar as he went on "stage" and....punch. I to this day don't know why I wore a suit to this thing as the groom was the only one not in jeans. At a certain point he pulled us aside and said sorry....her family is religious...but I got yall! Check the back room. There was a case of warm af bud light. After the festivities wrapped up at noon sharp, we were told to take a wedding favor...which had also been the decoration.... a Mason jar full of what I'm sure was great value brand olive oil w the couples pictures floating inside.
Worth mentioning I drove 5 hours to be at this thing....

Co-worker in south Texas. I was the only one in a suit. Literally dressed nicer than the pastor. Some had nice dress jeans on while half had cargo shorts. It was at some park with a pavilion thing with a River running in the back.
Halfway through the reception people were walking down and fishing in the river as they had rod and reels available.
Everyone else just stood around a keg with only styrofoam cups available. I drank more foam than beer that day.
Couple divorced a year later.

Bride in Texarkana changed her mind at the last minute and ran out of the church. Ended up getting picked up by some bootlegger in a trans am and ran off to Georgia.

A good friend of mine that lived in Jackson, MS got married at a train station. I'm such a good friend.

Went to a cousin's wedding years back. She married a cool guy that happened to be from Chalmette, with a large family.
I have another group of cousins that lived on the West bank in Bridge City. As the reception was ending, the Chalmations and Bridge City elite started arguing over something. Someone was accused of wearing a "country-bumpkin-arse suit". Out of nowhere a chair flew into the midst of the Chalmations, and fists began to fly.
My dad and I stood off to the side, drinking whiskey and watching the festivities.

I’ve been to one where Busch Light was the preferred beer. I asked for a crown and 7 and I got Old Crow and sprite.

Not one we attended but a friend of ours has a bakery and once delivered the bride and groom cakes to a reception being held in the loft of a working mule barn; from what was told later it wasn't converted and barely swept out. She said it was a race to get to the cake before the flies took off with it.
