I love this New Orleans story-

When I was young, like 6 or 8 years old, my family went to New Orleans. I don't know why, but I thought the Hard Rock cafe was the coolest thing. And before we even got to the city I knew all I wanted was a Hard Rock cafe t-shirt. But when we got to the restaurant the line was around the block and it would have taken hours to get in even to the gift shop.

My dad made us leave, wouldn't even get in the line. A block down the road there was a shop that had the shirt! But no, dad pulled me away and wouldn't even let us go in that shop. That I really didn't understand. Now walking away I looked back on more time and tried to figure out why that shirt at the different shop said Hard Cock cafe instead. Crap trip.

True but not in the traditional sense

New Orleans is a shite hole because of the white ruling class who preferred being kings and queens of a landfill than potentially be a tier lower in a modern, urban power.

frick the NFL, first and foremost, but to be clearly transparent, it's pretty obvious they just ripped the fleur de lis from the Saints old helmet and photoshopped it onto their logo:

They may not own the rights to fleur de lis', but they definitely own the rights to the Saints logo, which that clearly is.

I could see the NFLs point with this shirt specifically, I didnt go through the rest of their products.

If it were in different colors it woudn't be a problem. the issue is the black and gold. They just need to stick with the black and white and other colors and it's not an issue.

The Defend New Orleans shite is dorky as frick and probably only supported by folks that have lived there for a couple years

You have to send a letter to companies like this that are kind of misusing your trademarks so that you don’t undercut yourself when you have to fight someone really misusing your trademarks.

Ya, the colors and placement of the fleur de lis make it pretty obvious that the shirt designers were ripping off the saints.

I don't know the intentions of the DNO people, but it sure seems that was the purpose of that one shirt (to represent the saints in a way).

Good for the NFL! They should go after Macron and France next. Go after the frogs for some back royalties.

And while they're at it, they should file suit against Texas for allowing their residents to refer to themselves as Texans without handing some money over to the NFL.

Seriously though, that shirt does seem to use the Saints' fleur de lis graphic or font and the skull looks an awful lot like a football helmet.

They were pretty retarded to use the same colors and that skull with the fleur de lis in the exact same spot as it is on a saints helmet. The NFL will keep pushing and drain them financially, unfortunately.

They tried something similar with Fleurty Girl when she started selling WHO DAT shirts after the Super Bowl then David Vitter stepped in and rescued her. That incident made her brand pretty popular. I don't see that happening here.

The black and gold is the big issue.

the FDL isn't the property of the NFL, but the FDL in conjunction with black and gold may be.

And ON a football helmet.

It's not about what they think. It's about what they can convince someone they think.

Just like LSU doesn't own the rights to Death Valley, but if you name your business Death Valley anything and use even one of their colors, they will try to shut you down.

Fleur de lis? No. But when you put it on a football helmet it becomes a closer call.
