Idk if they are truly rich, but just from following on Social media, 2 different guys who appear to be loaded. The guys are polar opposites, however.
One guy is a big time party promoter in Atlanta. Damn near any bigtime party or club event going on Atl, he is probably apart of it. He has pictures with plenty of big time rappers, athletes, etc. Perhaps it's all a flex, who knows.
The other guy is in the tech industry. He has a tech start up out in San Fran. He doesnt really flaunt his wealth online because that's not his personality. But one of my closest friends was apart of his wedding out there. From his words, the guy is fricking loaded.

We talking rich, rich?
I don’t think there are any. Our valedictorian is a partner at a major law firm in San Francisco. She might be at that level.

I think most kids from my uppity private baptist school ended up doing pretty bad. One made a killing selling off a tech business.

There was a guy down in Florida who started an auto parts franchise.
He died and his widow sold it to a larger company for 500 million.
She married a guy who I graduated from high school with, she was about 20 years older than him.
She died during covid and he inherited all of her money.
Lucky MF’er.

It’s amazing to me that he went from being a crude comedian to the morality police (or at least his version of morals).

One is a River pilot
Another bought ethereum at the initial coin offering. I don’t know exactly how much he made, but he lives on 500 acres now and no longer needs to work.

Airboats, specifically renting them for the Oil Spill cleanup, then renting them out to power companies for every hurricane to hit the Gulf Coast since the Oil Spill.

I legitimately can’t think of a single person from my graduating class of 270 that’s rich. And I follow most of them on social media.
That’s Central for ya, I suppose.

The person from high school no one saw coming made it selling cigars. He started a little store in what was basically a quarter of a storefront in the Acadiana Mall in the early 80s selling pipes, pipe tobacco, smoking accessories, and knives. He eventually moved into cigars and into a storefront not in a mall and is now in a stand-alone building.
He's not the kind of rich the OPs guy is.
I've got two friends who went to work for a small gaming company in the Seattle area. They just happened to onboard in time to begin working on a new game they were developing. Brown bagged lunches and started to work on a new game hoping the company would take off. The name of the company was Valve and the game was Half Life.
One of those guys has a house worth in the millions, bought his parents and in-laws each a house and drives a McLaren F1 as a daily driver.
The other is a bit less ostentatious and lives in a more modest home but he is probably pretty close to a top 1% income earner. He's also an incredibly down-to-earth guy and has been as long as I have known him, which goes back to college in the 80s.
They all still work though. The guy from high school is in his 60s now. The other two guys are in their 50s.

Went to Georgia Tech, then went down the cyber road. Well known in the industry, and had multiple high level government positions. Now back in corporate. Worth a stupid amount of money. I will say dude is the real deal, not some idiot political appointee.

I can name a successful NFL player from mine and a cancer surgeon. I'd bet the surgeon is worth more though
