I recall hearing that a tactic of Derrick Todd Lee's may have been make the sounds of a crying baby while knocking on women's doors and saying something to the effect: please help, my baby is sick and my car is broken down.
There are some really sick bastards out there and women need to be ok with alerting authorities and keep moving to safety instead of trying to solve the problem.

I don’t know any woman who would just call the police and leave a baby alone on the road. Even knowing this has happened to others I couldn’t bring myself to leave a baby on a road alone. I would definitely scope the situation before jumping out now and have my gun in hand but never just leave. In fact, I wouldn’t want to know any female who did because something inside her is broken.
