Let us know the criteria. Is it titles or producing good players? If it is the number of titles, the answer is John Curtis.

Top 3 schools in number of titles

14 titles for Evangel 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010, 2016

17 titles for Haynesville 1924, 1929, 1936, 1970, 1971, 1984, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2009, 2013, 2014

28 titles for John Curtis 1975, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2013*, 2018, 2022

Shoutout to Hahnville High School beating Evangel in 2003

I knew Evangel was dominating around that time, but didn’t realize it was this much

Evangel, Haynesville, Curtis, and West Monroe were all dominant in the 90’s into the early 2000’s. It’s hard to pick who had the more impressive run.

Even though two of those schools were public, the dominance of those four schools set the stage for the eventual split. A lot of schools knew they didn’t have a chance at a state championship when four schools were that dominant, and most years they were in four different classifications.

6–won it in ‘93, too. That was 4A, though, when it was still the highest classification. I’d put Evangel 1st, then WM. Curtis is disqualified because they never played all the way up. Say what you will about Evangel, they ALWAYS played up to the highest classification allowed (I think there was a rule that you could only jump up 2 classes at a time, which is why they have a 3A title or 2 before they were allowed to play 5A).

But frick Curtis. Beat up on a bunch of inferior schools. Because…softball. Get the frick out.
