This is so fricking on point. Politics do not need to be involved in this event. This is for the players and the coaches. For them to strong arm their way into this just shows how shitty humans they are. To have the spotlight on them and not the team.

Not a big issue with JBE being there, dont get booing him outside of your own political disagreement which could be kept away from the box. Its a state university and he's a graduate, he should be there to promote LA's successes.
SWB is a different story, she's got no connection at all and LSU is unfortunate to be surrounded by her city, she has no business other than pandering.

I turned it on after she spoke I guess. I watched President Tate butcher the English language and turned it off. I’m a little disturbed that we have a guy who speaks like that as our school president. That’s embarrassing. I don’t care how many degrees you have, you’re judge on how you speak.

It is the in-person equivalent of Interstate construction signs with the Mayor and Governors names in huge font. The event wasn’t about them but they inserted themselves as more than an observer. Shame.
