I’d prefer to start Skenes if he’s going to be used. Florida is brimming with offensive confidence. Start Skenes and let him shut that shite down and bring them back to earth. Get 3-4 from Skenes, then go Hurd -> Cooper.
I think starting Coleman would be a grave mistake and an invitation for Florida to pick up right where they left off yesterday.

I think if you’re going to do this what I would do is tell him to follow his normal starter routine. Game starts at 7:30 (or whatever time the 5th/6th inning would start). Piece it together to then. Have him come in to start the 6th and tell him to go win us a national championship.

I think that is a good. If Hurd can hold them scoreless and we can pitch some runs across. It will be a real shock to Florida in later innings having to adjust to a fresher Skenes.

First few innings should have shadows, start Hurd then bring in 20 who doesn’t need shadows

If it is true. Hopefully the shadows help Hurd like they helped floyd. That heater was on them before they knew what hit them. And if it helps to mask his breaking ball just a split second all the better. Skenes doesn’t really need the shadows to be dominant and no doubt if he comes in under the lights and with the adrenaline will be as dominant as ever

If Skenes is "ready" and wants to pitch for whatever pitch count Jay would agree to, then you fricking start him. Do not wait and hope we don't end up needing him.

He threw fewer pitches than Skenes, but he’s still operating on the same amount of rest. I wouldn’t necessarily expect him to be any more effective. It only makes sense if they have a very specific plan to get 2-3 innings tops from Skenes, but I wouldn’t expect much more from Hurd in that case. Herring, Cooper and Guidry will all be on short rest as well.
