What has happened to sales people?

I never liked dealing with the slimy cocksuckers but at least they used to be hungry.
I need a used truck to pull a car trailer. You can't give someone 30k (The listed price on the used truck for the TD obtuse).
Half the time no one even responds.

They haven't needed to sell for a few years now. Cars have been selling themselves

car sales wasn't a good job pre-2020. Entry-level sales gig or for people who fricked up their career somehow.
After covid, they couldn't keep a car on the lot between the low rates and low supply.

They probably don't want to deal with the total headache of the back and forth on a sale where they'll only make $250, when they have others who can make them much more with little to no effort.

Because sales has morphed into have inventory = make sales.
They don't have to work when everything has more demand than supply. Things are starting to level off though, and soon will swing the other way. They'll be hungry again soon

Sales people, realtors, lenders, don't have to work, the money just flows to them while they are on the golf course now.
