I hate to tell you, but that might just be the hospital’s portion. You might get additional random bills from the OB/GYN and Anesthesiologist too.

$10k for me with insurance, at a Catholic hospital, with zero complications. And the bills trickled in for almost a year. 2015. It was a learning experience. If I ever accidentally have another, I will handle that process with more wisdom. I won't just blindly pay shite anymore.

Not one EMT responding to a car crash checks the financials of a patient. Breathing, bleeding, breaks, and burns. (The order may have changed). No part of that is finding what the credit limit is on your Visa.
Cutting off dicks, fixing a finger you broke while roofing is not our (the government's) problem.
