I drive around 4,000 miles a month for work. Bought a 2.7 turbo Silverado in 2020…. Horrible idea. It’s fine for driving around town but constantly ran over 4,000 rpm’s when passing someone on the interstate. No way that’s sustainable for that little motor. I traded it in for a 5.3 - soooo much better.

I have the 3.0 Duramax, probably the best powertrain I've ever had in a truck. Pulls my little tractor around great. Typically get 26-27 average, best was 36.4 up in the delta on the flat roads. 52k miles, not an issue YET...Fingers crossed.

Or you'll pay a 5k climate change tax to get one even though the gas mileage is only marginally different.

Baws don’t sweat 5k!!

4 cylinder and full size truck should never be mentioned in the same sentence. If you can afford the extra money just buy a diesel. They may be bigger than you like but they are better trucks over the long haul. I’m a Chevy man with gas burners but I prefer the Powerstroke or Cummins in Ford or Dodge. I’m on my 3rd consecutive F-250 and I love them but I bought a new Dodge diesel for the ranch back home and Dodge has really upped its game as far as interior quality. I may just end up buying a Cummins for my next everyday driver and break the Powerstroke cycle.

I bought a Titan bc it’s the most straight forward v8 out there. Not the strongest towing numbers but no emessions bs or cylinder deactivation or crap like that. It was what I could afford at the time, however if I could swing it I’d go duramax 1500 all day long now that diesel has come back down.

Buy you a Gladiator. They are somewhat underpowered, but a blast to drive and customize

I currently have a Canyon AT4. I’ve got the 3.6L V6 and have never had any problem doing anything I need it to. I like the size of it for driving in towns/cities, but I could stand for more cabin room. The fuel efficiency isn’t great-around 21 MPG on highway. They’ve discontinued the V6 and the prices are comparable to a full-sized truck so I probably won’t be going back for my next vehicle.

Those two things don't go together.

16' alweld with a 40 on it. Nothing huge but still beats the hell out of what he was getting with his Tacoma.
