How does he have any authority over this? Seems like head coaches calling weather delays is ripe for frickery

Yeh, so if our starter is pitching poor and theirs is pitching great, can Jay walk out and call a weather stoppage again? How does a coach have any say whatsoever?

How is it not like every other sport, you play the game unless weather actually forces you to stop?

He doesn’t have authority. He can direct the conversation to where he wants it to go though and make his case
