That was only the starting point. It took 60s years of his policies to get to the downfall of America

And LBJ wasn’t the starting point. Maybe Woodrow Wilson was.

All of this is very old. The kids in the 60s knew it. Chomsky has been arguing all of this stuff for fifty years. Human institutions this large cannot be virtuous. If you want to know why, look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. The call is coming from inside the house.

It was actually Andrew Jackson. That's when the riff-raff took over.

ETA:
On March 4, 1829, Andrew Jackson upholds an inaugural tradition begun by Thomas Jefferson and hosts an open house at the White House.

After Jackson’s swearing-in ceremony and address to Congress, the new president returned to the White House to meet and greet a flock of politicians, celebrities and citizens. Very shortly, the crowd swelled to more than 20,000, turning the usually dignified White House into a boisterous mob scene. Some guests stood on furniture in muddy shoes while others rummaged through rooms looking for the president–breaking dishes, crystal and grinding food into the carpet along the way. (White House staff reported the carpets smelled of cheese for months after the party.) In an attempt to draw partygoers out of the building, servants set up washtubs full of juice and whiskey on the White House lawn.

The White House open-house tradition continued until several assassination attempts heightened security concerns. The trend ended in 1885 when Grover Cleveland opted instead to host a parade, which he viewed in safety from a grandstand set up in front of the White House.

Is this an interview?

I mean.. meet the new boss, same as the old boss… but now the people can see who that might be.

I was 21 years old my dude. Barely not flunking out of LSU, chasing pussy every night, watching LSU win a natty in my FIRST senior year… I was trying not to kill myself at the bottom of a bottle or behind a wheel…

NO, I didn’t see it then haha. All the weird poli sci kids in class were not in my friend circle either.

Imagine it? I lived it. I was called a terrorist sympathizer for questioning going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and for criticizing the Patriot Act. There were precious few of us.

Ok I’m glad you brought that up… perfect example, W.

When I was younger, he owned my favorite sports team, the Texas Rangers. He was friends with my idol, Nolan Ryan.

The very first election I was old enough to vote in, W vs Gore, no doubt about it… I vote W. I was 18.

Fast forward a year or so later and the Twin
Towers fall… I fell for the patriot stuff hook, line, sinker. I was 19 with an irrational hatred for Muslims all of a sudden. I couldn’t have been more pro-war.

Now over the years, I start to realize that 9/11 DEFINITELY wasn’t what I was led to believe. W wasn’t some Aw shucks Texan good ole boy, but very much a member of the club Carlin spoke about. And the war in the Middle East was all about banking, oil, poppy fields, etc., and had Jack shite to do with the terror hunting rhetoric we were fed. It was a huge lie. W was a huge liar. Toby Keith America tunes… bullshite.

That’s sort of what I’m talking about.

you would have liked the weekly magazine Saturday Evening Post.

celebrate Americana.

I'm 81. I got Lyndon baines Johnson lies about the war, the assassination of JFK and Nixon. his pardon was an error. my co analysts at the fed reserve bank thought he was railroaded. should have had the full impeachment in senate.
today seems normal.

Think about the people who voted for that administration. Who would they vote for today?

Do we really want to have those regrets all over again?

I think I’m fully arrived to the conclusion that my vote is wholly irrelevant. Probably all of ours.

At some point, the pro-government left is going to have to realize that this isn't a right vs left thing but rather a government vs the people thing.

Funny enough they knew that once upon a time.... And then the media told them the orange man was the source of all evil.
