Not making fun of the deceased but by my estimations the guy was a complete charlatan. Private jets, mansions, etc. There's a reason the Bible says it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. This guy was a perfect example of that.

John McWhorter is one of the many people making a similar point. There's a religious tone and set of behaviors that mimic religious belief interwoven into the political and social justice language of the woke left.

The first time you hear this analogy it seems wrong because of the absence of a religious God centering the belief system. But the comparison is striking. It is hard not to notice the religious fervor of the belief, the way apostates are treated, and the way heretics are treated. The demands for apologia resemble the penance and penitence demands placed on Hester Prynne by her Puritan neighbors.

I have about 10 minutes so this is it.

I could give you endless examples of the pseudo- religious nature of modern Leftist Wokeism. I could give you a list of their orthodoxies. I could detail the punishments they mete out for non- observance of their Fundamentalist faith. You can say it’s not a religion and I’d counter by demonstrating that societys without religion tend to put their faith in a cheap substitutes. That’s the history of the 100 million dead to the failed political pseudo religion we call Communism in the 20th century, that’s the history of modern man.

Let’s just discuss the Woke trans religious movement as an example. It’s clearly an orthodoxy. And a rigid one at that; hence the term Fundamentalist. We are told we must accept that men are women and vice versa or we will be punished. In the history of our species this belief has flourished for the last 15 seconds. The Woke Fundamentalists have supported legal measures to restrict certain categories of speech and political measures to penalize those who do not use the sort of language favored by woke activists. This brings the woke movement into direct conflict with traditional ideals of modern liberalism that our country was founded upon, most notably tolerance and freedom of speech. You either observe the super magical orthodoxy that men are women and women are men or you get shamed, cancelled or worse.

And that’s just ONE area where Wokeism lectures us like Super Karen with the nanny- finger pointing straight at us every day of our lives. Here are some obvious points that demonstrate my point about Wokeism:

It’s dogmatic.
It’s strident.
It proselytizing.
It’s an identity.
It’s a community.
It has a strict orthodoxy.
It rewards followers and punishes dissenters.
It find heretics.
It’s coercive.
It seeks to silence dissent.
It relies on anti- science arguments.
It anoints “ high priests “ and sends them FORWARD into the broader culture.
It defines sins .
It has its own language.
I could go on and on and on…

I could go on for the length of a book, but I have responsibilities. It’s a Fundamentalist pseudo religion in every sense, and I understand why that makes its astonishingly CONFORMIST defenders and adherents very, very uncomfortable. The cognitive dissonance must be unbearable; to realize YOU ARE WHAT YOU DESPISE. You have become a Fundamentalist evangelist, just for a different creed.

I came to Christ through the gospel and prayer on the 700 club, and had an absolutely life changing experience as a young teenager that I could not and still can not really put into words that can explain it or give it justice, so I have a lot of respect for it and Pat. He was on television and an evangelist, but not even remotely close to a charlatan fleecing people of their money. Those people preach another gospel entirely, one that is purely money driven alone, the get rich with God crowd. That organization does a lot of good with the money they are entrusted with, especially in spreading the gospel of salvation through Christ alone and in bringing news to Christians that are important to people who follow Christ, standing up for traditional Judeo-Christian values, and opposing that which doesn’t, but more than anything, standing up for Christ and Biblical principles. If that offends, then it just offends, and it’s been told to us that it will offend, because it’s Christ who is the offense to people, and so be it.
