Second this. Spent a night in CG and it was just fine. Other than that, you could look at Jonesboro, Arkansas, but it’s not directly on 55 and it was a dry county the last time I stayed there.

I was going to say Sikeston....Pull off get a good meal at Lamberts.
If you don't know then look them up...Basically they have 4 items that they call Pass-arounds that everyone gets. The Pass-arounds are Macaroni and Tomatoes, Fried Okra, Fried potatoes and onion and Blackeyed Peas. Plus Hot rolls.
Plus you order your entree and 2 sides.
