If Trump is your hero, shouldn’t you be applauding DeSantis for being like him in a lot of ways? I would get your concern about DeSantis inauthentically trying to imitate Trump in effort to attract voters if he didn’t have a successful track record as Florida’s Governor. He’s shown who he is.

And if you’re getting from DeSantis most of what Trump brings, but in a more electable, more effective, younger package that can hold office for 8 years, doesn’t logic dictate that’s the better choice?

And what’s your plan for when Trump is done? Who are you looking to to lead the party after him?

Thats the point Ham. Most like both candidates. I like both. I want trump this go around but would love Desantis in 2028. MOST ON HERE FEEL THAT WAY. I understand you want Desantis for 2024 and that is fine. The majority want him for 2028. The problem is 2028 probably will not happen as he is torpedoing his presidential aspirations by running now. I hate that its happening the way it is.

Also, Ham you do realize the election was not on the up and up for one of the two candidates

The DesantisOnlyFans have conceded that Biden got 81 million legit votes, so they are betting that Desantis will be the only one able to get the 85million+ legit votes, because they are expecting Biden to pickup either 2-3mil legit votes or lose 20+million of the never Trumpers that voted for Biden cause of "mUh mean tweets".

Either way Desantis is definitely getting 100mil+ votes. Bookmark it.

What else does he need to go after them for, governmentally? He already won over the whole reedy creek thing and all indications are Disney just has to take it. Job well done. What else is there?

Quite possibly the stupidest thing I see repeated on here.

Why wait until 2028 when you can have someone FAR better now? Why is it "Trump's Turn"? Is this a monarchy and we all just missed it?

Trump is 80 years old and lost to Joe Biden, and is a fricking moron that thinks the word is "milktoast".

How is he torpedoing his career by running now? Because Trump is mad?

If anything he is increasing his profile.

Weaponizing the government against a private entity is a very liberal thing to do. I HATE Disney, but “conservatives” supporting this focused governmental attack are likely also just fine with the federal government being weaponized against the political enemies of liberals.

If Disney is breaking the law, prosecute. If they are doing something legal, but reprehensible, get a law passed then prosecute. Simply weaponizing government because you don’t like what they are doing is some BS. Go through the process. Don’t be like the Dems.

None of this is the reality of what is happening with Disney.

I hope not. What is happening with Disney? They broke a law and DeSantis is wanting to prosecute?

Disney is effectively a political entity that enjoyed unique special privileges in the State of Florida.

They decided to get political by taking a firm position on Florida legislation, coming out in favor of the sexual grooming of children by perverted adults.

Florida has every right to then decide to revisit that political entities special privileges now that they want to get political.

So DeSantis weaponized the government because of political differences?

Not a huge fan of that. I think it’s a slippery slope. And we are seeing what happens at a federal level when the government is weaponized.

This by the way is disgusting and just one of the reasons I hate Disney. But there is nothing illegal about an entity taking a political stance. Disgusting as it may be.

Are we going to start weaponizing government against entities that support other stuff we don’t like?

You know who does that, right?

What aren't you understanding? Disney was getting special privileges that other companies do not get in Florida. Disney decided to go all in on grooming and DeSantis ended those privileges.

And FWIW, yes i support involvement to protect our children when pedophiles and groomers attempt to make them victims. That just happens to be a hill i'm willing to die on.

I hate the groomers too. I absolutely love what is happening to bud light. I absolutely hate Disney and wish the same would happen to them. What I do not like is when an entity takes a political position, no matter how disgusting I think it is, that the government is weaponized against them. That is a VERY slippery slope. It’s very short sighted to not realize that. I am not in favor of that kind of power for tyranny being used by the executive branch.

When Trump loses to Biden again and decides to run again in 2028 I guarantee you he'll say that DeSantis needs to wait until 2032.

How many chances does Trump get? How many Senate, House, and Governors races is he going to cost us? I got news for some people, Trump is going to try and run until he's dead.

No, he had the law changed because that's what you do when people prove that they won't behave without laws forcing them to do so. The bill cracking down on groomer teachers is a perfect example of that.

Groomers: "Oh, look, a book about sucking dick for elementary school. Imma teach that".

Local citizens: "Hey, we don't want that shite."

Groomers: "frick off, we do what we want."

State government: "Hey, the local citizens are telling us they don't want that shite. We don't want that shite either."

Groomers: "frick off, we do what we want. There's no law telling us we can't."

State government: "Okay. Watch this."

Now in world where people behave themselves a law saying the state has to approve books in schools would be unnecessary. Government has better things to do than go over what books are being taught to children, but it became necessary for them to do so because groomers suck. Disney was given certain privileges by previous leadership, and they've proven that they're going to abuse their place in Florida and use their power for politics. Ok, you just invited politics into the equation. Hope it was worth it.

I’m a big fan of that law and protecting kids from what the teachers were trying to do. Am am not aware of a law being passed in regards to the Disney controversy. That is my entire objection. If there is a disagreement, pass a law. Allowing the executive to unilaterally weaponize government is not a good idea.

But why isn't that "weaponizing government"?

I honestly have no idea, but if a policy was changed as opposed to a law being passed apparently it was legal to do so. Do you oppose all of Trump's executive orders?
