Is it okay to say, "Have a nice Memorial Day weekend" to Japanese foreign nationals?

I work with a bunch of them. Will they get their panties in a bunch if I end an email with that?

If one of them asks me what I'm doing for the extended weekend, should I tell them I plan to watch Pearl Harbor?

I would get the samurai sword out and challenge them to a duel

I tell all my English friends Happy 4th. All but one of them seem to have gotten over it and moved on.

Tell them you’re watching Midway instead of Pearl Harbor.

This is one of those jokes that I would make with a friend, but would never, ever make to business associates.

Japanese are exceptionally pro- American, and non- confrontational. Why be a doucheninja?

Why would they care if we honored those who died in service of the US? And Memorial Day has been celebrated long before WWII - although different areas of the US called it different things until the late 60s.

Uhhh…I wouldn’t say that to anyone. It’s too long. Just have a good weekend or holiday will do.
