Never been but going soon. Looking for authentic and rustic as opposed to modern and new. A KC landmark type place. Thanks.

Isn’t that a Memphis place? Loved it in Memphis but KC doesn’t have a home grown favorite? Wassup with KC then?

Authur Bryant’s on Brooklin ave. Get the pork and beef combo , original sauce lard fries and an ice cold Bud.

I am shocked that the locals aren’t here for KC. Must be some really good places they are saving. I love Texas BBQ and love Memphis more but something is wrong with the negatives here in Kc BBQ.

I put this in the other KC BBQ thread, so might as well include it here...
If you go to Bryant's try the sliced pork and fries. Nobody else does sliced pork and it is awesome at Bryant's. When I smoke a butt I slice it more often that I pull it because of Bryant's. LC's has the best burnt ends in my opinion, and their beans are my favorite of the local places. I like the pulled pork and ribs from Joe's KC. The Z-man sandwich with pulled pork is my go-to there. Gates has the best weekday lunch special in town, called the nooner. It's a good sized bbq sandwich and fries for like $8. They also have very good ribs. Jack Stack is more of an upscale place that does everything well. They are the most consistent in my opinion. Slap's BBQ and Q39 are both very good as well. I hope you have a good visit and get some good BBQ.
Scott's Kitchen is very good, but they have weird hours so I kind of forget about them. They are by the airport though, so that could be convenient for you depending on when you fly in or out.

It's slightly different than a pork steak, but those are very good as well. Next time you're in the mood to smoke a butt try doing it this way. It's fantastic and it will save you a lot of time as well.

Oh that looks very cool, thanks for sharing. Been awhile since i have been to KC and don’t recall this one or seen it anywhere else.
Will try this technique for sure.

Ok. I live here in KC and I’m a Texan.
If you want good consistency then try one of Joe’s locations, Meat Mitch, Char Bar, Q39, Slaps or Jack Stack. DO NOT go to Arthur Bryant’s.
Now if you want the best in town then you need to go to Harps BBQ in Raytown. He does a Texas style brisket with amazing sides.
