I don’t expect us to stop hitting home runs or even want that. But we will have to produce runs in other ways if we want to be good teams IMO especially if we make it to the big ball park in Omaha.

I said it in the OP and I’ll say it again, the Achilles’ heel of this team is clearly pitching, so with that said, our team is going to have to score a shite load of runs. I’m not saying it’s fair to our offense, just the truth.

Thinking specific to last nights game. The extra inning bombs from Pearson and Thompson are out in Omaha and that was the difference in the game. My point, made a little differently, is that if we can stop stranding as many base runners as we are right now, we’re gonna be really hard to beat.

Omaha doesn't play nearly as big as it did when it first opened. The balls have changed.

Home run totals during the first four years of the CWS in TD Ameritrade Park were 9, 10, 3, and 3.

In 2015, 15 homers were hit.

In 2019 (22), 2021 (28), and 2022 (28).

What does that look like to you? LSU is 1st in conference play and 2nd in the country in OBP. They are 2nd in conference play and 14th in the country in BA. They are by far first in conference play and 4th in the country in runs scored. Where do you see an overdependence on HRs?
