I have a marathon watch that seems to have totally shite the bed. Woke up and it was ~ 45 minutes behind. It's about 10 years old, never been serviced, probably would be most economical to have the whole movement replaced.

Yall have any suggestions of an economical shop to have this done at in Kenner harahan area? I'm not worried about authenticity or anything like that, I just want it working as accurately as possible again.

Not in Kenner/Harahan area, but New Orleans Watchmakers does great work. It's in the quarter on Carondelet/Canal.

Follow up with how this plays out for you... I'm planning to buy a marathon watch shortly.

Try Sue's jeweler's on Metairie Road... Trust worthy and will not rip you off...

By their pricing I would probably end up exceeding the price of a new one to get this one fixed. The quote I got from my local jewelry shop was over $800

I am sending them an email today to see though.

I just want someone to rip the guts out, put new guts in, set it and send it back.

Full service prices on Marathon’s website seem reasonable.

The cost/benefit on servicing mechanical watches costing under $1k new is always a balancing act.

If its really only sub $300 to get it back running I will probably do that. If I can get it done for similar price locally I'd prefer to do that though.

Impossible, someone’s gonna have to get in there and fix it.
