I’ve spent way too much money bass fishing over the last 45+ years. My oldest son has most of my stash of tackle stored at his house on pegboards or in plastic bins, it looks like a tackle shop. But I still pick up tackle when I find a deal.

I know saltwater fishermen who pour tons of money into their hobby. I know a guy who’s big time into racing pigeons, has a large, climate controlled pigeon coop, and spends tons of money on it.

I know people who go to Vegas multiple times per year, most of the time losing in casinos. They love doing it, and love hitting nice restaurants.

I knew some guys years ago who’d work extra from Jan2 until August 14th, because when deer season opened Aug 15th they’d already quit their jobs, paid multiple memberships to hunt clubs, and hunted seven days a week.

College football? Whether they’re fans of my Gamecocks or your Tigers, some people pay stupid money being a fan, then contribute to NIL.

I know several couples who go to Disney multiple times per year. They buy passes, avoid the most crowded times, hit Epcot for different festivals, and eat at some of the nicer restaurants.

Common thread….people spending money on something they like. What difference does it make?

What do adults do at Disney for a week?

I’d have dinner somewhere every night. Ride a few rides each day. Wander around some. Pretty much what I’d do on any vacation.

thought about this when I went to a Rockets game last year. Just substitute theme park with game

We’re not comparing a basketball game with an entire theme park…

Yea, that mentality that you should do whatever you want to do and people should stop worrying so much about what others do...that's definitely the problem!

It’s def sad and weird in this situation.

I personally don't get the appeal but I've known a few families in my life that were perennial Disney-goers. Kind of seems like a commercial cult to me.

Or they offer a good experience and a clean, fun environment. Got to love the baws in this thread who live at the hunting camp avoiding their families acting superior lol

You just described my ex-SIL.

Left the whole family to be immersed in Mickey.

I would not say they have something wrong with them. I just think it’s sad that they are living a fake life. Same as someone who watches hours of television every day.

To be fair, this is basically what sports fandom is now.

Disney seems like an ideal place for child molesters to hang out.

Maybe if they live in or around Orlando and have an annual pass

Way too expensive if you have to travel and stay on Disney properties though and I would have no desire to do that many times in a year

You should see the star wars nerds that go to the Star Wars attractions
They play some game that has hidden meanings throughout Star Wars land
They were weird

There are adults who collect baseball cards and comic books. No different than going to Disney 3-4 times a year.

That's my point when I brought up how is shelling out a ridiculous amount of money on LSU football any different
Its honestly worse. Look at this site. It’s mainly conservative middle aged men that hate the woke movement. Yet, the lsu football team is mainly young woke people that protest against those middle age men that are lsu fans

Yet, those middle aged conservatives fans will spend thousands of dollars and invest a ton of emotional energy cheering on people that hate them, and they hate as well the other 6 days of the week
