Bad Company - What a great band !

One of my favorite 70's band. Paul Rogers is a great singer, and while Mick Ralphs in no guitar god, he always seemed to have great hooks and short solos that just seemed to fit the songs perfectly.

Jimmy Page liked them also. He got them on Zeppelin's Swan Song Label !

This album is a classic:

Fact: Somewhere in the world, at any given moment, "Feel Like Makin' Love" is currently playing in a pool hall.

They were in fact great. But obviously not as important to rock music as Missy Elliott, Madonna, LL Cool J, Kate Bush, George Michael, Donna Summer...

Had a co-worker years ago who was listening to 5 finger death punches cover of Bad Company. First I'd heard the cover and commented ,"They did a cover of Bad Company"? He asked who sang it before, and I replied "Bad Company". Although he had lived here for years, he was foreign and some communication was difficult at times. It was about another 5 minutes of clarifying that Bad Company was a band and they sand a song also called Bad Company

Bad Company - Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy

From the album Desolation Angels which came out in March 1979. That was right at the end of my junior year in high school. Brings back some high school memories for me.

The RnRHOF is what it is, but it always puzzled me how Def Leppard is in but Bad Company is not. Not that Def Leppard is not deserving, but I view them as basically the same band just a decade apart.

Paul Rogers is my single favorite rock singer. Perfect blend of blues and soul.

In my top 5, wore that album out.
Shooting Star was about the best campfire guitar song ever.

Not only that, but remember the Firm? Page and RoDgers got together to form a band too. Page said the Firm helped pull him out of the rut he was in after Zeppelin ended.

The Firm--Radioactive

Growing up, they were one of my dad's favorite bands and this post definitely brings back memories from riding around with my dad jamming this album on cassette when I was a kid. I love their music.

Five Finger Death Punch absolutely whiffed on their cover. Not that they were the right band to cover that song (or any other song) to begin with, but it was terrible.
