No other city in America has street bums. Weird.

Seriously. This post is pathetic, but it will get him some upvotes.

And I’m not a BR fan.

That's why we build libraries in the first place.

We worked at the local library recently and noticed that every worker either had purple hair, weighed 300+, or looked gay. It was like the island of misfit toys.

Supposed to be but you’re not. When i was downtown for jury duty not long ago all I could think about was how easy it was to get around down town, how cool it would be to be able to park and walk around safely to see all the interesting things there, and how shitty it made me feel that the city allowed itself to get like this.

Baton Rouge is fine. It is just showing the societal decay that is everywhere as there are more economic leaches and governmental theft from the productive to unproductive than can be sustained.

It’s all about to crash down anyway when the debt ceiling is not increased.

To preface this: I am from the Northshore area and I have not really traveled too much around this state besides visiting New Orleans frequently.

If you were uncomfortable in Downtown BR, you must have down right pissed yourself in New Orleans.

ETA: but yes, your assessment of that part of BR is correct, but like in every city there are good and bad areas.

Good luck going to most any decent sized city these days and not having to deal with homeless addicts all over the place.

It's funny how people always bitch about BR and Louisiana in general, yet I can guarantee they have never done anything to improve it. Instead they just move away. You have to make the city what you want it. Volunteer, run for elected office, or hell just email your elected official.

That’s a massive problem across the country.

People get fed up and leave and then the problems follow them. I know so many people in Houston who left New Orleans and then complain about what’s happening to Houston. Next they’ll leave Houston and go to Nashville and the cycle will continue.

It’s hard to blame people who want to better themselves, but at the same time you’re running out of cities to go.

You base an entire opinion on living in a city from seeing homeless druggies downtown?

I’m happy in BR. Sure it could be better and I’m sure there’s better places out there, but that doesn’t mean it’s a terrible place to live.

Typical Northshore comments. Yall have just as many drug addicts there too, they just get the benefit of hiding behind trust funds and sugar daddies.

I was in Birmingham around New Years visiting my MIL. Homeless junkies all over Five Points South including some black dude with his junk out pissing in the fountain in the middle of the day.

Mustangs and chargers up and down the roads all night. Felt like home

Lived there for a few years after graduating from LSU and tried to make it work but ultimately had to move on. A damn shame.

Most all urban areas have a serious homeless problem primarily due to untreated drug addiction and mental illness.
