How can the FBI hold this up to begin with? Murder is a state crime and Nashville cops responded to the scene and conducted the investigation along with other Tennessee criminal authorities. What's the jurisdictional basis for the FBI taking control here?
I will add that I can sympathize with the view that publishing a "manifesto" is giving the killer what they want and letting them have their way by placing a giant national megaphone in front of a now dead crazy person, which might inspire other copycats to commit similar crimes to achieve notoriety.
But at the very least they need to summarize the evidence and explain the motives. When a person shoots up a school full of kids, you don't get to say, "let's just forget about it".

This is totally absurd. If any Government agency come across a copy of the spelling words list that your kids or grandkids had last week for a test I can guarantee you they would classify that too.
If a person is really unhinged and they want to plan out some kind of attack on a person or group of people then you can learn to do bad bad things online. Unless this manifesto has specific plans in it like building blueprints and things like that then there is no reason not release this manifesto so people can understand better how bat shite crazy this moron was. To keep this classified serves no purpose at this point.
