That’s just embarrassing
As much scrutiny as the chief and the department is under, why the frick would that come across as even remotely a possibility?
Ok, so you think the guy deserves a second chance but the man was let go from multiple agencies.
On top of that, the guy is in his 50s now. He is not even gonna be able to stay for a retirement. No one is gonna be able to physically do the job at 65 and older. You are a liability at that point when dealing with another person if an arrest is necessary

If the metro council claims to save this parish money. All the police departments need to be disbanded along with the city fire departments.
Hand over money and law enforcement to the sheriff.

This is one in a string or bad rehires and those kept on. When the good cops get run off and/or leave and standards drops you get criminals.
