Still have ~35 games remaining including postseason against mostly good competition (except maybe a few of the 5 remaining midweek games).
The 2023 hitting numbers will likely drop a bit, and the pitching numbers will likely rise a bit. But 2023 compares very favorably to the numbers the last LSU championship team put up.

Get the injured players back and make a run.

W/L record
2009 56-17, 20-10
2023 29-6, 9-5

Batting average
2009 .315
2023 .329

OBP
2009 .405
2023 .456

SLG
2009 .516
2023 .587

ERA
2009 4.02
2023 4.18

WHIP
2009 1.268
2023 1.222

BAA
2009 .257
2023 .209

Fielding
2009 .974
2023 .980

Few of them won't be coming back.

Why do you have an arbitrary presumption hitting and pitching statistics will regress? The weather is warming and the second half of the sec slate simply is far easier than what the first 14 games offered. Stats will likely pile up consistently

Did the idiots on this board melt every time the 09 team lost a game like they do when the 2023 team does?

Impressive the batting avg and slugging so far this season compared to 2009. Cause the bats then were before the drastic change of the bats.

However, pitching ERA should be lower in 2023 when you factor in the change of the bats.

Get Dugas back, Ack, and Coleman and proceed to get better as a team without allowing free bases and this team is elite.

I doubt this. The toughest part of the schedule is over.

Plus at this point in the season you have so many data points that a major change in numbers is unlikely.
