Have y’all changed any of the clubs? I’m rocking the OG bag bc I don’t know shite and there aren’t any good YouTube videos up yet

The Clubs don't matter, as far as different brands and stuff. It is the specs you put on them that changes the stats. Check the store because they sell pro player specs for different clubs and stuff that are great, if you have enough currency to buy them. Also, a really good ball spec if a great early get if you can afford one. The different brands and stuff are purely cosmetic and make no difference to actual performance.

completely redoing the swing mechanic.

What are they doing to it?

yeah I'm not talking about that. I mean changing out the clubs. like having more hybrids or woods. using different angle wedges/driver. That kinda changing clubs.

I haven’t got deep enough yet to do that but I will probably switch out my 3 iron for a 5 wood or something like that.

I am glad they are redoing swing mechanics. Putting is fine I’m getting pretty consistent on line and putting it into a makeable range.

I really hope in the swing they change the path color so you can see it.

What’s been the strategy for career? I put the first point to driving and the second to putting. I was going to load up putting and driving, but I’m getting a good 300 per drive or so and my putting has been pretty sharp. I might shift and fill in the short game first.

I put my initial points into power until it got to where it cost 6 or 7 points per upgrade.

I did some on drives but have since put everything into approach. I realized that was where I was costing myself strokes and my scores have improved dramatically with the approach improvements

This game is impossible. I’m playing on Tour and it’s so hard. I don’t think I’ve hit a perfect drive yet.

I’m slowly getting better and figuring out the mechanics, but it’s a grind.

Just played round 1 at Augusta with my golfer plus 2 after 1.

I did manage a few perfect timings and even fast on my swings, if you flick the stick up instead of push it seems to land more on perfect timing

It’s definitely not easy. I started playing on sim right away and was shooting +15 rounds but have pretty quickly gotten down to rounds between even and -5 or so depending on the course. Glad I did this rather than shoot -15 every round on arcade

First time at masters with my amateur golfer on sim I just finished tourny plus 14 fell apart in round 3 and 4. I couldn’t keep most shots from going off the green. I did eagle one from like 150 out though

No. They are adding the 3 click swing mechanic to the game, which will help handicap people enjoy the game. They are not changing the original swing.

For a while, until I had been able to get my distances up more, I had a 2 wood and a 3 hybrid. Those were the only changes I made.

You shouldn’t be able to make your ball take a right turn upon landing if you hook it and miss left. It’s dumb

It’s been that way it’s entire history. Swing mechanics are the same from the last one I played, think it was Tiger Woods 07-08?

So putting is really frustrating and has taken a lot to get used to. And frick you Augusta greens.

Those Augusta greens are so nasty

My chipping is so erratic right now, however on non Augusta courses I’m shooting -3 to -10 mainly because I can stick greens.

Also love the flop shot on here

I wish they had the putt preview option like 2k where you line up and then can putt preview to see the line you have it on instead of them showing you the right line on putt preview.

Yea when I played August as an amateur, first round was like +4. Then I went on a tear and finished top 5. Was only playing pro difficulty, so not saying much. I'm about to up the difficulty again. I've taken the putt preview line off, but i've gotten my approach shots down so good, I can generally drain medium putts now.

Yea, Flop and spinner shots I love.

Yea I’ve got my approach up pretty good and am dialing in pretty well on how far each will roll out. I’m about to remove all the shot previews.

I bought the legendary accuracy ball spec that was on sale a couple of days ago. That thing has been a huge help.

Has anyone else made the switch from PGA 2K23 to this one. Me and my buddy play a lot of PGA 2K and gave the EA game a shot but after about five holes, we went back to 2K.
I got this, played it a bit. Visually, it crushes 2K but something felt off.

I went back to 2k, which I loved, but that no longer felt playable either.

Went back to EA again, stuck with it for a bit and it's finally coming around and I'm enjoying it.

Biggest issue for me is, even on the hardest swing difficulty, it's wayyyy too easy to put every drive down the middle/on the fairway. Give me more right and left misses if you're, say, more than 1 or 2% or something off on your backswing/downswing.
