I'm fairly convinced that the Aggy boosters forced him into the guaranteed contract with Jimbo. He has certainly not appeared stupid since he's been here. It's not like he's the one that let Pat Henry leave to a division rival.

That’s complete BS. Scott wanted Wade gone and the first chance he could, he fired him. The ink wasn’t even dry in the NOA and he fired him. The sensible approach would be to finish out the season, but Scott wanted him gone.
The NCAA knew what it was doing releasing the NOA just before the postseason and gave Scott what he needed to can Wade in a very spiteful way that also screwed over the student athletes. Including guys like Days that gave 4 years to LSU.
This narrative about Scott holding on is crap and anyone that had any connection to the athletic department knows it.
