I'm Team Tom on this one. She purposefully waited until the night before their wedding to propose an open marriage to him because she wanted to keep fricking the guy she had worked with (that worked for the Dem Senator). And despite not wanting to, Tom still married her. Shiv wasn't faithful to Tom, intellectually or physically, for pretty much their whole short marriage.

Shiv is a terrible person. It's not hard to hate Shiv. She's a self-important, spoiled brat (not unexpected given her lifestyle) but tries to pretend that she's not. And when she got any semblance of power she managed to frick it all up because she had to work to keep it.
With Roman and Kendall you know what you're getting and they're both pretty self-aware of being frick ups. Shiv? She thinks she's the smartest person in the room when she's often not.

I agree with almost all of that and as I said, he's one of my favorites so I am probably always going to be team Tom. This isn't me trying to defend Shivs actions in their marriage at all.
I am just simply talking about a "HE STILL LOVES HER" argument. I mean, he doesn't. He was like the definition of apathetic towards it. That was a great scene at the end and just on acting alone, they knocked it out of the park. But that's not really a scene where I'm feeling sorry for him because he's moved on and doesn't care what happens other than wanting to talk about it. It wasn't a want to talk about it so they can reconcile talk.
I will say, I dislike Ken 10x more than I do Shiv though. Ken is just a douche and tries to be cool and it comes off super lame and corny. Can't really find a single reason to like him. Shiv is at least an interesting character with some depth to her character, even if it is her being unlikeable for numerous reasons.

Did you seriously just find a way to blame their problems on Tom? Did you forget that she was cheating on him from the jump and was never sincere about their relationship to begin with??

You may ultimately be right but I definitely read all of Tom’s actions as still loving shiv and desperate for her to love him back. The whole call her for being out with Ken’s ex was the first sign. If he was over her, he wouldn’t give two shits if she found out he was trying to gloat while also trying to display he was moving on.
He wanted to talk everything out and offers to make love to her, not frick her. I most definitely read it as him still loving her. Could be a wrong for sure.

The call to her is because he has been trying to preserve at least being legally married because he is worried about his position with Logan if he and shiv divorce. Hence his nervous conversation with Logan broaching the subject.
He doesn’t love about her but he doesn’t want to be openly antagonistic to her and spur along the issue
