Fun fact. The bucees isn’t actually in Athens.

I liked the sliced brisket sandwich better. The chopped had too much sauce for me and the pieces fall out all over when trying to eat it. $8.49 a sammich

Bucees is great. It is popular now so the gheys on the OT have to automatically dislike it.

Agree with everything you posted!

I had a funny experience the last time I visited Buccee’ s. I was in the restroom and there was an employee in there that had just finished cleaning and was just admiring his work…the way we all do when we are finished mowing the lawn. This guy that looked like a truck driver scurried in stiff-legged and goes into a stall. Almost immediately, the guy starts farting and it sounded like he dumped a bucket of pea gravel into the shitter. The employee just looked down ar the floor and I could hear him say “frick” under his breath! I had to laugh.

It has its purpose. But sometimes you just want to quickly fill up and grab a coffee instead of shopping and a family dinner.

I avoid Buccees unless I need to use the throne, or get DEF (today). Place is a madhouse.

However, between Houston, DFW, SAT, and AUS, I'm stunned how many Japanese and Chinese I see in there. To the Japanese at least, it's probably like a slow mid-day train ride in a minor Tokyo station so they don't mind.

Passed it up the last two times we gone that way.

Not worth burning 45 minutes to get in and out

Nothing on the open road compares to a Buc-ee's - had the pleasure of stopping at one of their first units just sw of Houston more than dozen or so years ago - was completely taken by the quality of the restrooms - never seen anything like it outside of a first class hotel.

Always our first choice on any trip inside Texas

And they have some really small ones too - one in Baytown, another close to Victoria - just like a regular mom/pop gas station in appearance. Never been in one of those smaller ones so cannot comment on the restrooms, etc - but space would not allow bathroom like the larger ones.

It is because the city of Athens annexed that little corner of Tanner.

To the OP, the sliced brisket sandwich is good, but the Texas cheesteak burrito is the GOAT.

Disagree. On Interstates, QT and RaceTrac are very viable alternatives. RaceTrac on Siegen, maybe not, but I've never had an issue in Texas on the Interstates with the two aforementioned brands. Although, I'm not going in there to shop for anything other than caffeine and maybe *a* snack, but I'm making the decision I don't want to spend 20 minutes parking and getting out of the amazing selection of inattentive drivers that tend to do visit Bucc-ees. There may not be a more dangerous gas station parking lot in the country.

Weird? It's cheaper than Dollywood! And about as much fun.
