You do realize that Saban hasn't delivered anything but a Indy Bowl Trophy for Bama so far - right? You may want to wait until you win something meaningful before all of this Saban is Great stuff, I like the guy and love what he did for LSU but Jesus lets not forget he was barely over .500 last year with some horrible losses to severly less talented teams (ULM), which usually means you were out coached........

okay....I said I was done but dammit, you gotta read bud...don't just read one post, read the whole thread....Saban has a proven resume at schools other than Alabama....he was pretty good at LSU and Michigan State before them....yeah, he was barely over 500 last year and now he's about to get to the BCS Championship, or at the very least, a BCS bowl game...doesnt that kind of prove my point? Yeah, I thought so, too.

Even if this does happen, Outback Bowl >>>>>>> Indy Bowl.

Good luck with UF; you'll need it.

Dude, your gump schtick is getting old and you've worn out your welcome here. Nobody ever said that Miles was any kind of "messiah". We don't worship our coaches here, that's a Bammer thing.

I hate Bama, but respect Saban. Here's exactly how it will go down. Bama will only win the West this year. No SEC or BSC NC. Bama has big questions next year especially at QB. The situation will be worst than our's this year. Saban will leave Bama b4 bringing them and SEC or BCS NC. But, he'll get pretty damn close.

Still a lot of football to play to be makin those kind of assumptions but the implications in your thread and subsequent comments are that Saban is a great coach and Miles is OK. Saban has lost more games to inferior opponents (at LSU and Bama) than Miles.

Oh yea and Miles is coming off of a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP season and has lost a total of 9 games in 4 years. Its all about the W's - right?

Hate to break it to you, but the loser of the SEC championship game usually falls behind the 3rd place team in the SEC bowl pecking order. I don't think the loser has ever made it to a BCS game. So, "at the very least" Bama could end up in the Peach Bowl or even worse if you go on a 3 game losing streak, you may make it back to the Indepedendance bowl. This is one reason many people are tired of Bama fans. You haven't finished the season yet, things can and usually do happen.

You haven't said anything. Your whole statement was a series of questions. You have to say somthing before you can be wrong.

Okay, again from an Alabama fan, and by the way I really enjoy the board and respect the LSU fans for what that is worth coming from a Tide fan, anyway off topic...we love Saban and I get that most of you hate him...that said, is Les Miles really the messiah of SEC football coaches? Again, he's a really strong coach, but how much, honestly, of this season is due to coaching? I would say a good bit...now go ahead and bash me and explain why I am wrong. Again, much respect...hate the game, not the poster.

If Saban can ever do as well as Miles has done during the last three years at LSU, then we can talk about Saban being great.

I really was asking how much Miles is to blame for the losses.

The only sense in which Les is to be "blamed" for the losses to Georgia and Alabama is that he decided to separate Ryan Perrilloux from the team. Had he not done that, and had Perrilloux not self-destructed at some point during the season, and had his antics and attitude not poisoned team chemistry, then the likelihood is that LSU would be 8-1 now and headed for Atlanta. That said, Les made the right call. I am highly skeptical that either Saban or Meyer would have done the same.

Bama fans said he was a mediocre coach when he was at LSU so its hard to take any feedback from you on Miles seriously.

Most hate him ? Not even close. Don't buy everything the Birmingham or Tuscaloosa News says or Finebaum.Very few hate him.

A lot. I don't care how much proverbial "talent" is there, you still have to coach them. SEC and BCS titles aren't handed out like Civitan awards.

Look at Alabama's 2008 roster. After listening to Alabama fans all last week,I was under the impression Alabama must be starting 9 true freshman on each side of the ball. Turns out Alabama has mainly JR's and SR's starting. Talented players signed by Mike Shula. But,Saban is coaching them and doing a heckuva lot better than Shula did with them.

I know you are over here gloating because you beat us for the first time in five years, and you think you have the greatest coach in the country. And like others in the SEC, you can't admit that Miles is in his class or UM class.

But why don't you do your own research, go back to the LSU 2004 season under Saban after we won a NC and Saban had fully instilled the "the process". You will see that that team had more talent than this LSU team, a SR QB with at least some starting experience, and a future #1 draft pick to back him up. He also returned a lot more on defense from that team than we did this year. In 2004 Saban loses 3 regular season games, and the bowl game. He then walked away from the progam with good talent in the pipeline, but very young talent. Miles came in late due to Sabans untimely bolt, with no time to recruit, and very few scholarships to give. He signs 16-17 recruits including the #1 QB in the country, which proved to be fatal as this year goes.

Over the next couple of years, we could not get a quality QB to look at LSU because we had Russell (so), Flynn (so), Perrilloux (fr) in front of them. That is why we are having this year, we only have three losses, like Saban, but we have far less at QB and defense than he had in 04.

Keep in mind, if Perriloux was not such a knucklehead, we would have one more win this week, Alabama.

So, you make your comparision.
