i had otters get in my pond 2 years ago. let me say this, an otter is a better fisherman than any of us could ever hope to be.
i basically had to start from the ground floor

The same.

They got in my pond over the winter of 21-22 when we were in the hospital in New Orleans with the baby for 4 months. Wrecked it. As far as we know only the one albino catfish survived. Nothing would feed. Only thing left were bream and bass. Just didn't have time to trap them. Eventually they left.

I restocked early last year but they came back this winter. One of the otters met an early demise one morning and I had one trap pulled up by the stake so I assume it caught another one. Haven't seen them since. May have to restock the catfish again now.

Right now I am doing my best to hurt the bass population this spring with the hope of getting everything balanced out again.
