Do you have an aerator and does your pond stay muddy?

No aerator. It's in an open field on the side of a hill that usually has a good breeze.

It was muddy the first year or so until the grass took back over around the edges where the dirt work had been done.

How big is your pond? Looking at doing something similar to mine. Its 3/4 acre

Ours is about an acre, but we selected the 3/4 acre catfish pond package. It was like 400 channel cat, 400 chinquapin (Red Ear Shellcrackers), and 10 lbs of minnows.

We don't feed very regularly. Maybe once or twice a week Spring through Fall or when someone visits and wants to see the fish.

Overall it's been very healthy and self sustaining.

Mine has a few stunted bass in it, its overpopulated even tho there seems to be around 20 bass in there. I wonder if I should drain it before throwing catfish in it?

Eta: who did you order thru?
