Just got home from a funeral this afternoon and found that the winds last night blew a cover onto the lift levers.

They cantilever the boat to the side. The cables are off the wheels and the cops say stay away from it.

They say the 90 angle on the cables could snap at any time and be deadly.

I’d lower it if you could.

I can’t tell what size that is but 1/4” is typically rated at 3 tons break strength. No, a sharp angle isn’t optimal but you’ve got a lot of wiggle room. If you don’t have any other way to relieve the weight I’d grease the cable that has to slide through the metal angle where it’s off the pulley and try to lower everything to get it in the water.

A couple of moving blankets zip-tied to the cable will dampen whip movement but I really don’t see it breaking from tension. It might abrade during lowering but you’ll hear and see that before it gets bad. It’s not going to snap just hanging there; cops are fos. You’ve got multiple factors of safety you’re dealing with.

Are you able to lift the other side up to make it more level, then let it back down gracefully?

Boat cops saw it on the lake for Saturday afternoon patrol.

He says the motors have burned up. I tried both GFI. No power but lights on.

Attach two chain falls one on each beam take some of the load off of the cables so you can either reattach them. Or just handshake it back to another pre strung cable so it can be lowered down.

I have no advice but I see that you have the exact same terrible luck in life that I do.

Update

Called a dock guy. He said stay away from it that the cable could separate since it wasn’t on the pulley wheel.

He came and said the motors burned up.

He got a ladder and hand cranked starboard up. Then let Both sides down and voila.

Only $350 to get it right.

All good.

Need new cables and motors.
I hate boats.

BRB. Will take a pic.

I’ve learned a better lesson and sell the boat and just play with jet skis with the kids.

Should have sold it in 2020.

And you're on fresh water. Multiply any aggravation you have by 2x for salt.
