I really hope JD can do it but he will have to play an entire season like the 3 game stretch in 2022 of Ole miss, Florida, and Bama.

In those 3 games, he threw with anticipation, didn't avoid the middle of the field, and accepted risk/rewards-type throws.
In the other games, he would avoid risk/reward-type throws, which also resulted in him waiting for receivers to be open.
Since there will be even fewer games where LSU will be the perceived underdog, will he worry about avoiding mistakes to secure wins or will he let it loose and put teams away early?

He’ll have to be since now the whole league knows how to shut him down……make him throw from the pocket.
He's had an additional year to develop in the system and build chemistry with his teammates, primarily the WR's.
Towards the end of the year, the O-Line solidified and performed well.
Hopefully, by the start of the season, he will be able to trust his teammates to do their job, which I believe was one of the major factors impacting his performance last year.
If so, I'm hopeful he'll deliver on his potential: read from the pocket, work through progressions, and deliver an accurate ball... only leveraging his running on designed plays.... or when no one is open to buy time to throw.

I will bet we see more of the same from Jayden as his 4 years proves out.

He will look unbeatable against bad competition and then will struggle to do anything but run against good teams.

He could recreate the Burrow season and still get shite on here.

Barring some miracle turnaround over this offseason, he’s not capable of being 2019 burrow.

No doubt that gap will narrow as soon as the first game is played.
Just as the gap closed between a Daniels and Nuss as the season progressed.
5th year Senior should play at a higher level. We will see.

Lamar Jackson is 212. Michael Vick played at 210. Russell Wilson is 215.

But yeah, Jayden needs to gain weight this spring and summer. 200 is too light.

He came out of high school at 175 pounds. He's listed at 200 now. He's been in a college program for 4 years now and has added 25 pounds. He's probably maxed out as much good weight as he can add at this point.

No he isn't. He is 230 lbs and he stays hurt.
Ravens website
Vick might be the most physically gifted athlete to ever play qb. Fastest person on the field while having an absolute lazer of an arm.

RW isn't a run first qb.

Because he is a qb and threw the same amount of tds as jordan jefferson in 2009 and our passing yards per completion wasnt good( meaning check down charlie). His passing was average at best in a lot of games. If he can recreate the bama, ole miss, and florida games the sky is the limit.

Nuss will be a great QB

While I and I’m sure all LSU fans hope you’re right, what have we seen to this point in time to label him a “great” QB? Against Arkansas JD was sick and struggling but yet the staff didn’t replace him. could the staff know something that we don’t?

Having a career habit of not taking care of the ball is not going to get you much action in close games.

The crazy part about this statement is we have a very mobile qb that refuses to take risks and non mobile qb that'll just sling the frick out of it. I wish JD had a little Nuss in him (pause) and I wish Nuss had a little JD in him (pause).

I hope he succeeds too, I really do, but at this point he has had what like 4 years to develop this skill? Even in the games people say he did great in, it was a lot of scrambling and short pass with our WRs/RBs making the play a big play. Towards the end of the year, teams took away the run and sat on quick routes, see Arkansas and Texas A&M.

He has not shown an ability to throw receivers open, or throw an accurate deep ball. He has the potential to be special if he figures it out, but I don’t see that happening miraculously in season 5.

Do you not consider Bama a good team?

Some of you will say anything to tear down JD, the QB that led us to a SEC West title in year one.

Baffles me how an LSU fans can hate on a player that is a great Tiger, won you games, more than expected and is the guy the coaches think is their best option.

But I’m sure you gurus know better than the staff. I hope he makes a leap but if not he’s still a damn good QB, top 10 if you ask many “experts”

I mean I hope he’s better next year than he was this year. Seems like that should be the goal for every player.

Just spitballing, but It could be the fact that he was mediocre in at least half the games he played.

think this dude might flirt Tebow 2008

Bruh...
Tim Tebow threw for 30 tds in 2008.
In the last 3 seasons of football JD has thrown 33.

Tim tebow put up 42 tds in 2008.
I really hope JD can do it but he will have to play an entire season like the 3 game stretch in 2022 of Ole miss,Florida, and Bama.
I think he can make a big step up.

He came in cold last year, to a completely different offense.

He didn't have any familiarity with the receivers, they were all new to him, and (I imagine) he fully expected Boutte to be his primary target. Boutte wasn't right, for whatever reason, and didn't look good until the SEC Championship. So Daniels had to look elsewhere amongst a bunch of total strangers. I think after the first few games, he started to run more

He started the year behind what WAS a weak O Line, with no running game to force the defense to respect. He had to be that running game.

This year, he now is behind an experienced O Line with 2 proven tackles, everyone knows the scheme, and he now knows to target Nabers at WR first, and also Taylor at TE.
I fully expect the running game to improve, Williams will be solid and we should see another back emerge too.

I could see 30 TDs passing. He will probably trust Nabers to make the plays Boutte didn't early last season, and will be less hesitant to throw. I think he ran more because of those drops; he felt more confident in running than throwing at a #1 who wasn't catching anything.

If he puts in the time with his teammates to have the confidence in their skills and knowledge of the playbook to the level that Burrow had in 2019, I'm good.

That's what makes Champions and if they all put in the same work in the classroom; Graduates.
