LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne posts advertisement for AI essay writer in latest TikTok video
quote:
BATON ROUGE - LSU star gymnast and social media personality Olivia Dunne posted a video on social media Sunday afternoon advertising for an AI program that writes essays for students.
Dunne posted the video that shows the gymnast using the platform called Caktus AI to write a complete essay focused on the key sentence of "Gymnastics is the hardest sport."
"Caktus is the first ever educational artificial intelligence tool. It allows you to automate all of your school work so you can spend more time doing things," the company's website says.
According to her biography on LSUSports, Dunne is a junior majoring in communication studies. Dunne currently has NIL deals with Body Armor, ESPN, Forever 21, Grubhub and Leaf Trading Cards among others. On3 Database says her NIL value is more than $3.4M.
It is unclear how much Dunne was paid for the Caktus AI advertisement.

I thought about this a few weeks ago. All of that anti-plagiarism software is going to be useless.
Universities are going to have to figure out other ways for students to show this kind of research/work.

Hopefully she gets kicked out of LSU and applies for Only Fans University.

Next up... condom commercials.
I knew this NIL beast was going to turn ugly as soon as they let it out of the cage.
As far as the AI thing, current gen students can barely write as it is. Now they aren't going to be able to write at all.

This is some bullshite. The point of writing is so you learn HOW to do it.
And if you aren't going to do the work and don't care about learning, you hire an actual person who has those skills to write it for you, like a reasonable person.
Not only does this promote laziness, but is encouraging stupidity.
And now it's taking money out of hard working nerds' pockets

Chat Gpt's thoughts on the subject.

As an AI language model, I do not have personal opinions or beliefs. However, I can provide information and insights on the topic.
Advertising for an AI that does school work for students raises some ethical concerns. While AI technology can be useful for automating certain tasks and streamlining processes, it is important to consider the potential consequences of relying too heavily on AI for academic work.
If students use AI to complete their schoolwork, they may miss out on the opportunity to learn and develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and other valuable skills that are essential for success in academic and professional settings. Additionally, using AI to complete schoolwork could be considered cheating, which undermines the integrity of the educational system and can have serious consequences for students in the long run.
It is also worth considering the potential impact of AI on employment opportunities and the economy. If AI becomes so advanced that it can replace human labor in many industries, it could have a significant impact on employment rates and income inequality.
Overall, while AI has the potential to be a powerful tool, it is important to consider the ethical implications of using it for academic work and to ensure that students are still engaging in meaningful learning experiences

Can LSU expel her for this? They wouldn’t expel her of course, but seems she’s advertising for falsifying student works for money

Does she not have an attorney / consultant telling her how bad this looks?

Hell, just give everyone a degree of their choosing and move one. No one will do any of their own work evidentially. It’s the American way - AI will take over by 2040 anyway.

She's probably done with her English electives so no fallout on her academic eligibility.

I think doing this advertisement was a poor decision.

Well... Like what will essay writing proficiency be a necessity for her future?
