The players love it. Of course they do, they don't want to play 18 innings in a regular season game.

That's interesting. Because every time I hear a player speak about it, it's not complimentary.

And how many games go 18 innings? Stop with the exaggeration to make a point. But when they do happen, they make for some of the greatest memories. No one is going to talk about games that ended in softball rules, except to do so negatively. It's wuss ball.

Very few, but you did have an 18 inning game and a 15 inning game in the playoffs last season without the extra runner rule.

Of course they were more memorable because it's the playoffs. Crowds aren't bailing out, players are more amped up, obviously more at stake.

And the 4 active players on the committee all voted to keep the extra runner in place.

You must be listening to different players than me then. I listen to Ian Happ's podcast and he and his two co-hosts and every guest they ever have on that they ask about this all love it.
