re: I consider myself a tech guy but for some reason I cant figure out how to have 2 monitors

i actually just noticed my Webcam is plugged into the j5 that has the HDMI on it, so the webcam is working.

Also there is a spot for external power. It is possible there is a power issue from the USB port you are plugged into. If you have a USB-C port, I would always recommend that over a USB_A 3.0.
