You are a fool if you believe that. They gave up multiple picks and will pay highly for payton. They could have offered more money toward the other coaches and gave up no picks to land them if they wanted.
Truth of the matter is the saints got fleeced, which has been the case for almost every trade they have made for quite a while.

The 3rd does sting, but I wish, and I don’t know if it was possible, to put an exception in the deal.
If broncos make playoffs saints get the 3 back, or the second becomes a first.
I don’t believe this was awful since we knew it could have been nothing down the road.
It’s not a great draft so waiting to see how many players get cut.

I’m not debating how valuable the pick is, I’m debating the accuracy of saying a team with a crap load of needs can’t address at least one of them with the 29th pick in the draft. Anyway you addressed your prior statement by saying “of course we can use it.” And you’re right, this time.

Imo we’d need to be in the 15-20 range for this to be accomplishable
All the other teams in position to get a qb need one or could deal down to that 15-20 or even higher
Next years pick is worthless at this stage. Broncos could win the fricking Super Bowl for all we know.
