How could we be so loaded at every position but have no one to back up RP. He needs to play JJ to see what he has with him so we don't find out next year like Lee and Hatch.

So, you're saying that either Lee or Hatch should've gotten more significant playing time last year in case our 2nd string QB was kicked off the team...

Flynn Russell, and RP was a logjam at the QB position. It's really no surprise that it was tough to recruit one and it wasn't a high priority there for a few years.

and Lee was an elite 11 guy so i really don't get the criticism.

Yeah, Miles threw 4 ints including pick6, and one in overtime, missed a fG, oh and also dropped 4 passes including one that would have went for a TD. Give me a break!

Moron.
Yes, blame Miles that RP is an idiot and left us in a bad spot. Blame Miles that Lee was thrust into a position that he wasn't ready for.
I suppose you can blame Miles for the recession and global warming too.

I think Miles KNEW we were in trouble if RP was kicked off and that is why he got so many chances. You had to hope that Lee's talent would come through. I did not.

do you watch much football??

so exactly how did we manage to win title last year? oh yeah b/c no one in college football has more then 1 ready qb.....

ask USC, ask oregon, ask WVU, etc etc etc

we proved we were the most complete team last year b/c when Flynn went down we had a quality back up and didnt fizzle like the rest of the so called good teams.....

JPW, Tebow,Stafford, Sanchez, Harrel, Mccoy, etc etc etc.... any go down 6 months b4 season and they are all in same boat..........

get over it, we cant be kings of the world every year and we got more problems then just QB....

and these coaches know what they are doing, if JJ had any clue of the offense then he would be in there......

You want to blame somebody? Blame Ryan Perrilloux for being stupid and blowing a once in a lifetime chance. Les Miles is an awesome coach and we're fortunate to have him here with a long-term contract.

That said, I wasn't thrilled with our coaching staff on Saturday. They weren't bad, but they weren't good, either. Run the option on 3rd and 1? And then punt on 4th and 2 at the Bama 35. Hell, we punted and they got it at the 15--next play they were back at the 35. I'd liked to have seen Miles take a chance there--I think it would have worked. This game was coached too conservatively.

And Gary Crowton needs to learn that he doesn't have a star QB out there. Keep it simple stupid!

Thats an unfair criticism. Les has routinely played 2 QB's each year so he wouldn't be caught short at the QB position and it paid off big in the SECCG last year. The dismissal of RP upset that balance. It's CFB. Player turnover, including at the QB position, is a fact of life. Truth is Les and LSU probably do a better job than anyone getting guys reps so we've always got "quality" help coming off the bench. We're just in a transition year at QB and DC and it sucks.

after seeing nine games do you really believe we are 'so loaded at every position?' as my old man used to say, "the proof is in the pudding.." and as far as I'm concerned, the pudding still hasn't jelled. we have a solid team with no real superstars and a kid mightly struggling at the most important position in the game. in baseball it's called 'no pitching.' we also give up too many points...msu, auburn, and the ole ballcoach were all early indicators that we lacked superior talent at lb and in the secondary. Miles and staff have done, IMHO, a good job with what they have. we've lost to the #1 team, probably the best team and one of the top 2 qb's in the league draft. We are exactly where I thought we would be at this time. I'm not happy about it...and I doubt seriously Miles and staff are very content either.

I think Lee is an incredible talent with the potential for a tremendous up side. You can watch him and at times has flashes of brilliance. I suspect that is what the coaches saw when they recruited him, watched him in practice yet planned all along to have the crazy man RP for another year.
I would only guess the "blame" here is that Miles should have anticipated Lee's having difficulty with the SEC defenses that can't be replicated in any situation in practices of any sort (even against LSU's first team defense in practice).
Now I have been critical of Miles for several things (mostly last year) but being able to anticipate the young man folding under pressure in game situations ain't one of them.

Well, we had Hatch and Lee to back-up RP, who was going to be the full-time starter and probably a damn good one at that. We've got a recruit that might be more hyped than Perrilloux coming in in Shepard so that's a good sign for the future.

we also had Alex Cate committed until Fisher/Miles decided they wanted to take a shot at Tebow. Now he's the backup at Okie State for Mike Gundy, who's 40.
