This is the dumbest thread of the year.

“I’m still a buckeye” If you can’t tell what that reply means, you’re an idiot. I mean you kind of already are by starting this thread.

It’s absurd that anybody cares so much about this.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Ohio State wanted nothing to do with Joe Burrow until now.

LSU accomplishments:

*2 year starter
*led LSU to #6 finish in 2018
*led LSU to NY6 Bowl win in Fiesta Bowl
*was 25-3 as a starter
*led LSU to 15-0 record in 2019
*led LSU to SECW & SEC Titles in 2019
*led LSU to CFP National Title in 2019
*was Consensus All-American in 2019
*won every QB award in 2019
*won the Heisman Trophy in 2019
*Will have a Statue at LSU
*Graduated with an LSU Masters Degree
*was developed as QB by Joe Brady

Accomplishments at Ohio State:

*was on team for 3 years never started
*told by Urban Meyer he threw like a girl
*graduated with Bachelor Degree
*transferred out as Grad Student

Ohio State can claim they ran off one of college football’s greatest QBs & players of all time. I understand why Joe Burrow claims both schools but Ohio State fans to claim him is really funny and pathetic at the same time.

Put this in perspective. If TJ Finley had great success at Auburn and LSU fans were claiming him as an LSU Tiger it would be pathetic. This is the same situation except Joe gave Ohio State 3 years and TJ was at LSU for 1.

All the Trophies and Awards Joe Burrow won were from his opportunity he had at LSU and the Coaching he received by both Steve Ensminger and Joe Brady.

Let’s not forget that there were 14 NFL Draftees in 2020 on that LSU team including 5 1st Round players. Chase is still playing with Burrow for the Bengals. I suppose Ohio State is responsible for his and Justin Jefferson’s accomplishments because Burrow threw the ball to them. Makes as much sense.

Ohio State did help in his evolution as a great NFL quarterback. They did so by having him ride the bench with little hope of ever starting before his eligibility ran out.
Therefore, he began exploring his options at another school in need of a quarterback, in hopes that he could get on the field immediately to showcase his talents.
Luckily, Ed Orgeron and LSU were in need of an experienced quarterback with football savvy and a dogged determination to succeed. Say what you want about Coach O, but he saw something in Joe Burrow that intrigued him so he offered him the chance to lead our Tigers. And as they say, the rest is history.
Bottom line is Ohio State put him on the bench, LSU put him on the field. Who do you think should claim him as a successful decision?

Nebraska was the girl he had a crush on in high school but she’d had a bad home life and was messed up in the head. Joe wanted to be the white knight and save her, but she chased the losers instead. OSU was the prom Queen who he eventually fell in love with instead and married right out of school, but after a few years they mutually agreed to end it. They still cared for each other but were just leading different lives. Then Joe meets LSU, the girl from the next town over. They fall in love, get married, and have kids and live happily ever ever. However, they live in Joes hometown and many of his coworkers and friends are family and close friends of wife #1. He speaks well of her in public, and when he sees her around hes nice and cordial. But at the end of the day, he can’t wait to go home to the wife who loved him for who he is and his kids.

OSU ended up with a decent guy but now secretly feels deep regret for letting Joe get away and is jealous of his wife.

Nebraska gave up on marriage after the 5th try and is now living in a single wide with a leaky roof in a rough part of town.

I find this surprising and disappointing. A man cannot have divided loyalties.

He's a native Ohioan, so I'm not begrudging him that.

Hell, I've softened on Jamarcus' "Bama Boy" now that I've had some time and context, and he never even played for Alabama.

I mean, didn’t the guy graduate from there? He’s a legit alum and I don’t see why people care. He’s also an Ohio native, so you can’t blame him.

Guy made his mark and blew up at LSU. They got him to a #1 pick; but he definitely got developed heavily at tOSU.

Sad that Joe Burrow made a name for himself at LSU which allowed him to make millions in the NFL, yet OSU made him a backup QB sitting on the bench which would made him nothing in the NFL. Yet he still wants to claim he is a buckeye.

An NFL player that went to Ohio State, that plays QB for a team in Ohio claims to be a Buckeye. It's called pandering.

Burrow was developed at LSU by Ensminger and Joe Brady. If you didn’t see Burrow’s progress from when he arrived at LSU in 2018 and what he looked like in 2019 then you are oblivious to reality.

What Burrow looked like in 2018 when he arrived at LSU was mediocre. His transformation was done at LSU and there is no doubt about this. Anybody wanting to credit Ohio State for what Burrow became at LSU is an idiot and is shortchanging both Steve Ensminger & Joe Brady.

Ohio State developed Joe Burrow into a 3rd String QB and would have ruined his career had he stayed at Ohio State. That is a fact.

The only thing OSU gave him was motivation. And, I thank them for that.
