Burrow is the type of guy to request a fraction of that go to Chase to keep him on board.

I mean, duh. He’s probably the best QB in the country right now.

I agree, I mean Tyler Boyd is still relatively young makes a very good 2-3 reciver at 750 yrds per season plus Hurst TE so... do what you can while value is still there with Tee.

If they pay Burrow like that, Higgins is out

I'm ok with that as long as they get value fir him and hang on to Chase. That's a stretch but...

Damn, I posted on here yesterday about how interesting it will be when his contract comes up... I did not know the Bengals front office reads TED.com!
As I had mentioned earlier in another thread that Mahomes contract is about $47 mil/yr for 10 yrs.
No offense bro, but this has been discussed all over many media outlets, and long before yesterday

If I’m a billionaire owner I’m paying Joe a little under the table to ensure some key guys stick around.

I hope they can keep his receivers in place. They need to keep Higgins, Chase, Mixon, Perine and others on this team. Otherwise, he may get stuck like Aaron Rodgers, who I think rotted away with zero help in GB. Outside of the pocket Rodgers was the most accurate QB on the move I’ve ever seen with a devastating arm. Yet, he rotted away.
This is SPOT ON. I believe JB knows that the salary is of course GREAT, but having the flex to keep those weapons AND a quality OL in front of him will be important. It would not surprise me if he took 'less' so the team can do more. That is JB.

When the Pats made their run, Brady would renegotiate his contract to allow them to sign other players. It will be interesting how the Bengals handle this. That is a lot of money under the cap, but well deserved.

Burrow will have the biggest contract, by far, ever offered to an NFL player.

When the pats made their run contracts were done differently than now. The collective bargaining agreement helped solve that.

Hopefully he'll make some healthy donations to TAF.

That's salary cap circumvention. 49ers were busted for this in the late 90s.

That’s why they trade Higgins now. He is under contract. They can get a #1 and maybe a 3rd. You don’t let a #1 WR get to free agency. Plenty of teams would love to have him.
I don’t think they trade Higgins yet. He’s under contract for 2023. I think they keep him and franchise him for 2024, trade him after. They’ll get less of a draft capital return, sure, but it’s worth it to keep this core together for 2 more years.
You don’t get windows like this often, they’d be smart to do whatever they can to keep it open.
And yes while Burrow is there they will always be in contention, but I’m specifically talking about having 3 elite young playmakers together. Don’t break this up until you have no other choice

Burrow needs to get paid but I hope he thinks long term and leaves the Bengals the ability to hold the team together. Lots of these QBs take the big contract then look around to find they got shite to play with.

NFL's version of NIL, I'm sure it's still going on strong and healthy these days

They have to get rid of one of Mixon or Higgins if they want to still furnish their defense. Mixon is the obvious choice. They can relatively replace him with a rookie
