The "personal responsibility"
I'm actually okay with this argument.
The victim showed poor personal responsibility, and she was vaginally and anally raped, then left to die as punishment.
Casen Carver showed poor personal responsibility in both his choice of friends and his culpability in a savage rape. It's good that he turned himself and his friends in, but if rape and death is an appropriate consequence for the victim's poor choice, then Carver's consequence has to be more severe. Maybe what.....3rd degree burns over most of his body then crushed by a car dropped from 50 feet overhead? That sounds reasonable to me.
Everett Lee showed poor personal responsibility by filming the rape and contributing to the delinquency of 3 teenagers.
If rape and death is an appropriate consequence for the victim's poor choice, then Lee's must be more severe. Let's go with filming him having his legs eaten off by some hungry pigs, then a quick lynching.
Kaivon Washington showed poor personal responsibility by raping the victim and pushing her out of a car, and allegedly, he's raped before. If rape and death is an appropriate consequence for the victim's poor choice, then Washington's must be MUCH more severe, given his past crimes. Have his genitalia flayed then rectally impale him while being lynched.
The minor showed poor personal responsibility by raping the victim, but he's a minor, and can't be held responsible for his choice, so we have to execute his parent(s) or guardian.
All seems fair to me.

Do you think you’re making some type of profound, earth-shattering point?
Apparently he is because every time he dares to mention that it’s a bad idea for a 19 year girl to be near blackout drunk at a bar it gets downvoted like 17-1.
What I’ve learned from this thread is that you guys want to live in a consequence free world. Well that world doesn’t exist. Not in Baton Rouge, Las Vegas, Miami, Mexico, Aruba, London, Paris... not anywhere. It would be wise for people of al ages to be aware of their surroundings and not put themselves in harms way.
None of that changes the fact that the four guys are bad people and will go to jail for a really long time as they rightly deserve.

JFC this thread is an OT Sociopath's dream thread. 130+ pages of attention whores with horrid takes that are getting their selfish desires filled with reply after reply.
Please leave these idiots alone and just post updates. Good god.

Says the person who has posted more than 50 times in this thread in the past 48 hours. And God knows how many times since the thread started. Not like it takes more than two seconds to see your post history. :Lmao:
And sorry you are offended with the downvote

Did I lie about my participation in this thread? Did you think you were making a point here?

See, I don't think that's an appropriate consequence for a willful and deliberate violent assault. Not when the victim is dead. Their poor personal responsibility demands an appropriate consequence, no matter the results of the trial and sentencing. They all need to be tortured before they're killed. It's a fair consequence.

So has the OT shifted to the point of view that anything above 0.3 absolves a person a personal responsibility. Are drunk drivers absolved of their decision to get behind the wheel?
The problem with your idiotic statement is she didn’t do anything that would hurt another person. She didn’t have the capacity to make the decision to get in the car or get raped you piece of trash

I have failed to understand this lawyer’s strategy so far. Time will tell.
Does the jury have to be unanimous? I could see a jury member pulling some shite like what happened in the OJ case.

the pc/woke movement created a backlash of people who have to show how non-pc & no-nonsense they are at all times. like no shite getting blackout drunk isn't a good idea. congrats on pointing out such a controversial fact.

The 17 year old is the nephew of the 28 year old.

Darrin called me at my office a day after I walked into Reggie's and threatened to put a bullet in his head if my child would have died. He was not there. He told me I was a horrible parent and it basically was my fault his bar served my underage kid enough alcohol to almost die.
Not saying that he's right, but I'm sure he didn't like being told some guy came into his bar threatening to shoot him in the head. I don't think you are a horrible parent, but did you see if your daughter had a fake ID and tell her about the dangers of over drinking?

This whole thread is full of folks arguing with each other about completely unrelated things. It’s been interesting to watch.

so the rape was filmed
Yes, which is why the Judge made his statement after the moronic defense attorney lied publicly it was consensual.
