Parking near St Charles and Napoleon

Are there parking lots anywhere near St Charles and Napoleon during Mardi Gras? Usually hang out near the Pontchartrain Expressway, but that area is sketchy so looking to move to a little bit more family friendly area to watch the parades. Never gone that far down St Charles before.
I know, its New Orleans, but would that be a safer area in general?

A number if the schools and churches sell parking spots as fundraisers. A bonus is you often get a bathroom pass.

Just rent a room at one of the hotels along the Avenue and you get a secure parking spot with the room

That is the best place to watch. Actually Napoleon is better if the parade is starting at Tchoup. If you come early enough, there is street parking further uptown not too far from the route.

You can buy a spot at Cohen high school.
The perfect lot that is right on the route is the tiered lot at Touro Hospital. That is the safest option IMO, but the areas you are wanting to watch the parade are safe overall

Park in Harahan (brah) and walk there.
You’ll thank me later.

Church of the Latter Days Saints on St. Charles and Foucher used to have a pay for parking lot that came with a free potty pass pre-Covid. It’s down the block from Superior and the Hampton Inn so that area can get pretty crowded. Parking on the lake side of St. Charles makes it easier to get out of there if you’re going to Metairie.

Which days are you looking? 1st weekend or 2nd?
Trying to find a hotel on the parade route a month out for MG weekend is going to be futile
For parking you can just park in a neighborhood. If you are looking to pull up somewhere last minute you won’t have many options.

This is the safest area for parades. Napoleon will have more families. Saint Charles, more college students. I’ve been going to that area for 40 years now. Never had a problem. I’ve never seen a problem
Sophie B Wright high school has an all day pass for bathrooms, and decent food
De la Salle high school charges may be 20 or $30 to park all day. They have attendants on duty

You should probably park in Houma.
