Wasn't he kind of streaky with some accuracy problems in the last couple of years at Iowa State?

He's probably just not that great. Kyle Shanahan can win with basically any average joe NFL QB.

Surprised the Niners are such short favorites against Dallas. That kind of makes me think Purdy will turn into a pumpkin this weekend.

Not sure yet but I like the idea of taking the cowboys.

Quite a shift from consensus sentiment that Jimmy G, a Top 15 QB over his time in SF, would never be able to lead the team to the promised land

To put it mildly. And you could say that about Iowa State under Matt Campbell in general.

Suck in September, but roll through October. November is a toss up.

Throw 2 picks in a conference championship and be down 17, but somehow rally back with a chance to win (until he throws another pick on the final drive).

Throw for 150 yds in a Fiesta Bowl, but somehow win comfortably.

Be preseason #23, lose to ULL, finish #9. Be preseason #7, beat CFP contender Oklahoma State, finish unranked. Purdy and the Cyclones were enigmas.

A little of the GM's overvaluing the measureables, on top of he landed in the perfect spot with Shanahan and that offense. Lots of weapons around him with a creative play caller.

I don't know if you've watched any of the games Trey Lance played in with the 49ers. He CONSTANTLY sails balls over wide receivers heads. Mullens, Hoyer and Beathard also looked terrible in that Shanahan offense. Meanwhile Purdy is straight up outplaying Jimmy G.
