36 career starts from 92-95

49.1% passing completion .... 34 TD's / 47 INT's .... -148 rushing yds.

will forever be known for his performance in 1994 vs. Auburn.
LSU was controlling the game and winning 20-9 with 13 minutes left in the 4Q then went into SELF DESTRUCT mode.

LSU's final 6 possessions which are mind-boggling
Interception, returned by Auburn’s Ken Alvis for a touchdown - pick 6
Interception, returned by Auburn’s Fred Smith for a touchdown - pick 6
Field goal
Interception, returned by Auburn’s Brian Robinson for a touchdown - pick 6
Interception
Interception

Auburn ran 6 offensive plays (two 3-and-outs) in the 4th Q for 0 yards, yet they still overcame a 14-point deficit.

Auburn went 0-for-8 on third downs after the first quarter.

Auburn had only one first down after the second quarter.

Auburn had 16 total yds in the 2nd half

it's a shame people blame him more than they blame Lynn Amedee. Amedee was a shitty OC and then had the nerve to blame it on the players. For those that don't recall, here is a good description...

quote:

LSU was leading the unbeaten Tigers 23-9 in the fourth quarter. Auburn had been ineffective offensively so LSU only needed to kill time. But Amedee kept calling passes and Jamie Howard kept throwing interceptions. Auburn picked off five passes in the quarter and ran back three for touchdowns.

The most galling came with 2:06 left and LSU facing a third and 4. LSU still was leading 26-23 and Auburn had no timeouts. Considering Auburn had 16 yards of total offense in the second half, it seemed wise to use a running play to wind 30 to 40 seconds off the clock and punt.

Instead Amedee called for a pass. Howard's throw went off the receiver's hands to defensive back Brian Robinson, who returned it 41 yards for a TD.

"If we would have executed the play better in either reading the coverage or throwing to the guy who was open or throwing it away, it wouldn't have been nothing wrong," Amedee said later.

frick Lynn Amedee.
