Has to be TCU...right? May or may not be a little tampering going on.

Highly ranked players can get a lot of money as freshman to transfer. It’s a simple fact in todays world.

Well, maybe not if he had the balls to get better and fight for a spot. This all reeks of insecurity, fear, and a me-first me-now attitude. Entering the portal when you are still a Freshman comes off as fricking pathetic.

It is kind of unconventional. Walker is an unknown commodity with no significant playing time. He probably won’t be the starting QB for a competitive P5 school next year. He would do better to go to a school with a starting senior QB and no talented QB backing him up.

His dad probably had nothing to do with this. My son was a D1 college atlete. I found out he was transferring after the fact. Lol

Possibly, or maybe Kelly had a very honest conversation with Howard on where he stood and how he looked

How he looked when? In practice? Those who shite on him because he didn't look great in the bowl game are quick to forget that he's had pretty much zero real-game experience.

There's nothing we can do but wait and see how things pan out. If Howard goes to TCU and starts immediately, looking good while doing so, and Daniels continues to struggle with the same issues that have plagued him all season, then it's fair to say that Kelly may have made a mistake in throwing so much support behind Daniels.

I have no idea if Howard is as good as advertised, but I do feel that those who think Daniels is going to be much improved next season are in for some serious disappointment.

He’s not that good

It's too early to know that.

But, if I were forced to make a call right now, I'd agree with you. I was very disappointed in what I saw in the bowl game. I expected more arm talent than what he showed.

Jamie Howard had 47 career interceptions... clearly poor decision making has been a problem for quite some time.

And, that was a time when QBs only threw it 20-25 times per game. His career completion percentage is below 50%.

But, to be fair, he had zero coaching before his senior year.

Yep. All I’m gonna say is it says a lot about someone who was adamant that the kid redshirt bc that was best for him and then turn around and transfer before the next spring bc it’s apparent the job wasn’t gonna be given to him on a platter.

Sounds like private school families, amiright?

Let's be honest you are trying to discredit him when the person that won the Heisman in 96 had a 57% completion percentage. Players just were not completing 65-70% of their passes back then.

Hard to argue with this. But, in hindsight, after seeing Howard play, I think this was a false story that people just accepted because they didn't see Howard competing even a little bit for playing time...even when the QBs looked very shaky.

Are you suggesting that a career completion percentage below 50% back in the 90s wasn't bad?

Dude really only had 1 horrible year his sophomore season and completed 49.1% of his passes. LSU was a horrible program at the time with no direction, no talent, no really anything. Howard was the only exciting thing to happen. I'm not going to pretend he was fantastic but the way people are blasting him to make him sound worse than he was is absurd. He was an average QB who had his moments. Maybe if LSU was better with better talent he would have put up better stats, who knows. However, acting like he was a bum based on his stats without acknowledging his situation is just as ignorant.

Agreed! And it was Jamie who insisted his sweet little angel redshirt. Good luck to Walker but the overbearing father is the real problem.

I mean I get it. If Nuss stays and plays 2 season Walker would have sat for 4 years. No QB is going to do that bro

When you’re in high school and you’re an LSU level recruit, you’ve probably been the QB every year since 6th grade with no real competition for your job, so you just assume that’s how it is…
