Live in the woulda coulda shoulda mentality. Well he was a five star….
Who gives a crap. We made the seccg where he made no impact on the team. We got BK who is miles ahead of roster mgmt than any of you crybabies.
Remember fields left Georgia to go to osu. If we end up where Georgia is now, I’m good with it. Good luck walker, but the team will continue to thrive, with our without you.

Well fields left because of Jake Fromm State Farm.

Being a five star downgraded to a four star on recruiting websites doesn’t equate to being a good QB as people here seem to think.
The guy looked good playing in high school like Trey Quinn but he just isn’t cut out for this conference. He didn’t even look good against Purdue in garbage time. Those guys are built for SMU or TCU’s roster.

Well I can tell you if Howard goes somewhere like TCU an lights it the hell up I will be pretty pissed

He was a true freshman playing with scout team reps. I don't think garbage time against Purdue is any indication of his talent level. I wish him the best, would have loved to see him stay. Honestly I'm surprised that he came to LSU to begin with after the way the fan base treated his dad.

This isn’t helping your case. If Kirby would have started Fields instead of Fromm, their run begins earlier than 2021.

Its really a simple thing. The #3 capable player at any position after 1 full year will move on. If youre a QB take the big check and get on with your career. Just like alot of us would do if the competitor came calling right after being passed up for the promotion.
Its nobody's fault, its just the way it went down. We can second guess whether Walker becomes a transcendent player or if Daniels or Nussmeier will take that next step. He should put up big numbers at TCU. Sonny Dykes is the real deal.
The much better news is Walker couldnt beat these 2 out. If Walker Howard is 3rd best the following year after a full season in the program, LSU is in great shape as well.
It sucks that hes a great homegrown Louisiana QB prospect. Lafayette is a big piece of the puzzle. Kelly understands this. The Howard's understand this. You cant blame either side. Business is business. What would u do? Sometimes you have to depart as friends and get on with it.

We lost 4 games. What if we won more games in the future with better QB play?
Sorry we are upset after losing a talented QB that had us all excited about the future.

Of course, but this is no guarantee. And both Fields and potentially Howard get you there sooner,IMO.

Of course this is the rational take to have, but it's just disappointing right now. Especially if he has success in the future and we don't match it.

If he was good, he wouldn’t be transferring. Daniels and Nuss are heads and shoulders better

Who cares what he does at TCU? He goes there he's pretty much guaranteed himself he won't win a championship. No way they ever get in again.

Let’s not forget, by the time Howard was offered by LSU, he had still never taken a snap of varsity football. He played one single season of high school football. He needs time to develop, whether he realizes it or not.

Howard looks undersized and has Brees type height. To overcome that a QB has to be very cerebral in reading defenses like Brees or an excellent runner. Howard is probably a good year or maybe 2 from being a good SEC/ D1 QB. Nuss will probably still be ahead of him in development a year or maybe 2 from now. This move should not be a surprise to anyone.
