Cardinals fans are excited about the idea of Payton yet none of them think he is worth a high 1st.
WTF? Who wouldn't have given up the #2 overall pick in 2006 if they knew what kind of coach Payton was?
I truly cannot understand how a team would not want to give up a 1st for one of the best coaches in the NFL? I almost hope they don't get Payton and continue to miss the playoffs every single year.
I just don't get it. There's way too much demand for Payton to not expect to pay up for his services. Look at all the bad coaching in the NFL. So many misses. How would you not give up a high pick for him? Maybe if you didn't already have a franchise QB I guess I could understand it. Even then, it's Sean Payton. Like what are they thinking?

Because of your first sentence, i disagree with your second. In my mind no single pick is worth a HOF SB winning coach that still has plenty of years left. If you think I'm overestimating Payton then why are there already 3 teams requesting interviews with potentially 3-4 more depending on how the playoffs pan out? If Stroud or any other QB seemed to be a cannot miss prospect like Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, or Joe Burrow then maybe, just maybe. But I don't see a QB in this class being worth Payton on his own.
This is what I am saying. What is wrong with these people?
1st round picks bust all the time. Like what the hell man. It's one pick. And you aren't even interested in a QB.
I'm just blown away by the lack of value for the idea of Payton.
From 2006-2012(his suspension) he was the most winningest coach in the entire NFL outside of maybe Bill Belichick. And that was taking over a 3 win team.
He is a franchise changing HC. There aren't many on his level of detail and organization.
I am disgusted by the lack of value people are giving Payton credit for.
Who would not give up a #1 overall for Sean Payton back in 2006 if we knew what kind of coach he was? It's one player. Like what the hell. I just don't get it. You see all these others meh coaches get recycled.

They should offer Payton to be coach and GM! 2 for the price of 1 and give us that #3!
While I really want multiple picks (Mainly because this team needs young cheap talent to develop while rebuilding) I think the #3 overall by it self would be compensation enough and I could live with that. Question is would the Card's part with paying a #3 pick for Payton? I think they would because they have a pretty good team as it is. They need someone to get them all going in the right direction.

“Pretty good team”
Pretty good teams don’t draft in the top 3.

They were 11-6 last season. Pretty sure they were mentioned as a team that had even more injuries than us.
SF was 6-10 in 2020. I know most here don't wanna hear it, but injuries are a real reason for losing

A Superbowl winning HC does not became available very often. Too many people are overvaluing draft pick(s) in general and I think Payton is worth quite a bit.

Thanks for you insight.
In this case you're wrong, but usually your statement would be correct.

Mostly trolls, other team fans, post generators and newer fans of football I think.
And most of the country liked the Saints the way we were. Losers and the nfl's minor league team to pluck players from. They all want us to go back
