It takes a couple minutes to mix, I just stick it in and run the drill in a bunch of different spots. pulls the bottom shite up to the top.

It’s around 5 - 6 acres. Won’t put that much out next year.

ETA: I have just a spreader for my seed. I’m never planting enough to justify a drill plus a drill is just way too expensive

Well, time to start injecting Bt. Found my first vine borer eggs on the zucchini and yellow squash. Not a single one on the gigantic blue hubbard plant.

Picked off all that I could find, which was only 3 or 4.

Question. I popped up a raised bed. It doesn’t get direct sunlight until about 10-11am. After, it’s in direct sunlight until the end of the day. Will the garden struggle?

I got tomatoes, cucumbers, cantaloupe, peppers, pole beans.

Won’t be long now. I overwintered four pepper plants this year for the first time.

If you don't have one already, a cheap UV flashlight is great for fighting hornworms. They glow under the uv light similar to scorpions, making them easy to spot at night and hit with some snips or scissors.

My grape tomatoes are starting to get red. I should be able to pick a few tomorrow. My Cherokee Purple is huge but the buds are not setting fruit. Wonder what the problem is there? Everything else in the garden is setting plenty of fruit.

At the point where we are picking green beans every other day now. Gonna try and steal some new potatoes out of the mounds on Sunday.

My Cherokee Purples only set fruit on the first set of flowers so far. Most of them have at least 3 sets of flowers. I put mine in the ground the last weekend of February.

I have found they are not the best variety to plant in nola. I'll probably be looking for a different heirloom variety next year if anyone has recommendations. Sucks because they are my favorite tasting tomato I've grown.

A trick to set more tomatoes is to take a vibrating toothbrush a pollinate the blooms yourself. This tripled my yield. I was getting 2 or so per set now is almost if not every bloom..
