Which one of these QBs has 40+ starts? I’d like to know which one has hit their ceiling before I pick.

Interesting. But, Ensminger held Burrow back. Joe Brady set him free

Without highs/lows this is flawed. Football games are discrete events.

Pick a QB. Both first year starters at their current school. Both coming from seemingly bad situations.

Passing 2774 68.5% 16 TDs 3 INT
Rushing 180 attempts 818 yards 4.5 per 11 TDs
Sacked 43 times holy shite!

Passing 3388 yards 71.5% 27 TDs 6 INT
Rushing 86 attempts 540 yards 6.3 per 14 TDs...
Sacked 4 times

Serious question, are both QB's equal in experience? I ask because it makes a huge difference. If QB A is in his 1st season as a starter and QB B is in his 4th season as a starter, I'd take QB A every time. QB A looks as if he started off barely below where QB B has taken years of playing to get.

We need more details. If everything is equal, you could take QB B if it's strictly stats.

A was starting/playing significant minutes that season. He also finished the season improving.

B was in his 4th year of starting and he finished the season after 3 games inflated his stats with regression and and a whimper.

A every time.

Thank you for this post. I’ve been waiting for someone to point this out. Memory is a funny thing for many.

I am curious about what JD’s school schedule will look like compared to JB in his final year. Burrow was open that he was spending everyday watching film and working for multiple hours. With whatever grad program he did (that I would imagine was quite a bit of independent work), he seemed to have a ton of time to develop and work.

I’m not so certain that JD will have that time as an undergrad.

Burrow’s first year was in a run oriented offense. JD’s was in a QB friendly offense, so it’s not a fair comparison. Burrow was better than Daniels. But Daniels is still fairly good - and he might get a whole lot better.
